Description
For the last 15 years I set out to recover old tracks from 1979 to the big crash of 2005. Thumbing My Way Back to You was recorded originally in 1982 with two guitars and Midi drums programed on a Roland TR505. In the early 1990's I added the bass, a third guitar, and an organ using a Casio CZ101. To get to where I am today the CakeWalk ProAudio tracks were imported to Sonar 2 then in 2010 they were imported to Logic 9. I never got around to finish the track, but I thought I'd upload it to get your comments...

Pictured is my MacBook Pro running Logic 9 (Actual Tracks)

Thumbing My Way Back to You
A song looking for a singer :-) This has definite possibilities for someone to run a melody and lyrics over the top. Nice smooth vibe. Probably might require a bit of cropping, though. There are a couple of sections that seem to stretch out a bit but it would depend on what was happening over the top, of course. You can hear some limitations in the sound quality but they could be worked around. Take care, Peter.

Thumbing my way back to you
Must be so interesting to listen back into time and then be able to restore and breathe new life back into them. Interested in what the original format the tracks were recorded in?

Thanks for sharing :)

Thumbing
I hope I was able to answer your questions. It is just and old fashion audio cassette recording at double speed all four tracks on one side of the tape...

Brings Back...
Lot of Memories in the early 70's while at the end of a tour with a band
we decided to work our way back home....
I wrote a song that night (Working my way back to you)..We played it
for 3 week then the band broke upDon't know what happened to
the recordings but I still have the words somewhere...
Had some powerful FUNK back then, killer band...

Cool tracks fun looking back every now and then...

Memories
We all seem to have that same story, I too remember playing some great songs with the band but today I have no memory of how they sound. I have a duffel bag filled with 4 track cassettes that hold 100's of songs that I wrote. My Tascam 244 needs new belts but have not taken it in for repair. That analog sound is so warm. Well thanks for checking in, it have been awhile...

You
resurrected a warm and upbeat piece of music. I liked it from the first note. I think PeterB is right that this is a song that could tell a story. Thanks.

Great tune Steve...
Very well played and produced. You really should write some lyrics and, either tackle the vocals yourself, or farm out the chore to a friend with good pipes!

Be well friend!
