Description
I would like to dedicate this to Chet Atkins, he is the one that really turned me on to this tune! Plus, I met him backstage when he was in San Francisco's Civic Auditorium and signed my wrist with a felt tip pen. His roady said he won't wash it off and I didn't :)

I changed it up a bit, a few words here and there :) And a little bit of the guitar improv.

One of my favorite songs, I have always admired it's construction - great version here which is only to be expected, precise and accurate playing as usual along with equally compatible vocals. Nice work again - way to go - [is that right Bill?] hats off to you fella.

Is that Susan Lucci in the picture we're dreaming of? Your rendition of this classic is almost as beautiful as she is. Nice nod to Chet's style.

Nice take on a classic, Bill. You have given it the Chet makeover with style and panache. I just might have to Google, Susan... Thanks, Peter.

No it faded :(
But it was good while it lasted :)
Even a permanent marker is not enduring enough. I should of asked Chet's roadie if he had tattoo equipment ! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Slight Jazz
feel to this .......Gypsy Jazz, which is fine and dandy by me.....I have only heard slightly saccharin versions doo wopped and over produced...this must be closer to how Chet Atkins did it...and that's news to me as well....that he did this.....

Yes
there is a wonderful video of him playing this which I think should be watched by ANYBODY who loves chet's playing, this guy truly is one of the greatest and classiest fingerstyle guitarists to have ever lived:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-c66SJPuUI

No wonder in Nashville, they named a street after him and there is also a statue.
Thanks Jarvoid for stopping by. I am off to hear your latest . . .

Certainly a lot of Chet's feel in the runs in this piece. Skillfully played Bill (there's so much going on it sounds triple tracked), up there with your best and your voice is in true form. I like the use of space in the tune where you don't just sing the lyrics straight. I'm sure you've brought many smiles all over the world from your post here. Thanks Bill.

Your guitar picking is absolutely perfect! I wavered before I joined this site. I'm not good at singing or guitar playing, but I like to have fun. That's what it's all about. Chet Atkins is my favorite guitar player. You've done a swell job!

One of my favorite songs of all time...
..and boy, what a thrill hearing you perform it Bill; I loved the breaks in between the lyrics and you gave this a really stylish vocal. I swear, all you need behind you for a full 18-piece orchestra is that guitar of yours, just beautiful! Thanks for remembering this and thanks to for remembering another brilliant musician. Take care now, Michael
