Description
This the second version of this song posted. The first was a live version recorded on a Zoom with my friend Greg on lead guitar and some vocals. This version was recored on my iMac using GB with overdubs. It's all me for better or worse. Both recordings are quite different and each has their pros and cons. I do like the song though and think it is one of the best I have written.

Lyrics
I don't want any logical suggestion, just give me your perfection
I don't want a map that shows the danger, I just don't want to be in a crowd of strangers
So I'm just trying to get back to you, oh, I'm just trying to get back to you, yes I'm just
trying to get back to you

Well the storms will come, and the wind will blow
The tree will break and the power will go
Rain comes down and the water will rise
Head for high ground and you are so wise

chorus

bridge: I said, please don't forget me, I said please don't forget me
Because your memory lies deep within my heart

Well I don't care who killed JFK, I don't want any trouble with the CIA
Look to the sky for the truth, the only thing unidentified is the proof

Nice
to hear that bronco vocal and guitar with that laid back bluesy sound.
Seems to really gather steam, like that harmonic sound and soul !

Way to go! And thanks for sharing !

Bronco Redux
Thanks Bill! Appreciate your comments. The steam is definitely the problem. I think my engine has sprung a leak. Or to put it another way, my get up and go, got up and went.

Trying To Get Back To You
Authentic, back-porch vibe, Tom. Some nice blues tinted acoustic music with earthy presence in the vocal work. I grabbed my guitar and joined in. Thanks, Peter.

Jammin
Thanks Peter! Those chords are a good combo to jam to. Have done so with lots of local folks.

Hey Bob! Good of you to come by. The blues and the back porch will be with me to the day I . . . er, get a guest producer?

Trying to get back to you
I especially liked the guitar parts in the beginning. It kind of had an America *the band) vibe to me. The vocals sounded a little low/far away. I enjoyed this.

Thanks
Thanks for the listen and comment. There was an earlier version that was live at a kitchen table which surprisingly enough had a clearer more upfront vocal. You might try that one and see if you like it better.

Bluesy.
Beautiful guitar. You sound a bit too quiet but it still is neat. Thanks.

The Quiet Man
Thanks for listening Char. Vocals weren't recorded very well on this. No excuse. Just lazy and old. Well short of breath too. Anyway will do better next time.

Laid back
There's more than enough over-the-top, in-your-face, strident blues out there to listen to. Your laid back, subdued, back-porch approach works for me.

Came
Here via forums. Not sure if I've listened to you before. You have some really good moments. The intro chords and "please don't forget me" parts especially. Good stuff

I love to play guitar. I have been writing songs for many years and have a large catalog by this time. Songwriting is easy. Writing great songs is hard! Born in Louisiana and live in Texas. I grew up on Chuck, Jerry Lee, Elvis, Ricky, Little Richard ... [see more]
