Lyrics
Rain is falling down
And it splashes on the railing fence
Forming puddles on the window panes and on the roof shed
Staring at the mound
I still remember when you once were there
Lying down in the grass and breathing fresh air
You were lovely dressed in blue over the poppies field
I was so in love with you oh, my sweetie belle
Swaying in the rocking chair
With a blanket covering your legs
And a shawl over your shoulders on a autumn cold day
Staring at the hearth
Blankly watching at the creaking logs
While I fan the fire and read a book I do observe
You are lovely still my Sue though your hair is gray
I am so in love with you oh, my sweetie belle

Good rolling country feel to this, Freddy. Vocal has a comfortable warmth to it. I like the intertwining of the banjo, mandolin and harp. Much enjoyed!

Lovely Layering
I can really enjoy a good folk song and I liked this song in particularly because of the wonderful layering of vocals on the very joyful, romantic bed of music. Great use of instruments as well.

Is that acoustic banjo, mandolin, and harmonica? If they're software then you're doing an amazing job making them sound real. If you're really playing them all then you're even more talented than I realized.

Great tune and of course the production and mix are outstanding.

I'm melting
from the warm and engaging lyrics and vocals. And, of my, what a varied interplay of all the instruments. Mr. Jam, you mixed that up just right. Love it. Thanks.

Pleasant country...
Everything about this song (composition, arrangement, vocal) seeps with quiet and unrushed essence of a country village. This is just so pleasant to listen to. The accompaniment is so engaging and gently rolling and your vocal stays neatly out front so that your story can easily be heard. I really enjoyed this little song, Freddy. Nice going.
