Lyrics
Water all around me – I’m drowning in my shoes
It’s dripping from the ceiling – This battle I’m gonna lose

It’s coming from the pipes above – Through no fault of my own
I see the puddles on the floor – Need a boat to get around

Refr: If I don’t patch this problem
I’m gonna have to move
But until that day arrives
I’m gonna sing this groove

These pipes they say are forty years – If they’ve seen a day
They call them galvanized – But I think they’re paper mache

They’re crusty at the corners – They bleed a rusty hue
In fact it’s on my counters – And in my bathtub too

refr

I’m hoping that the landlord – Will see my side of things
I’m hoping that he’ll cut a check – What’s that, the doorbell rings

Oh no, it’s not the plumber – They say my rent is due
What a bad time to be swimming – Got those bad plumbing blues

If I don’t patch this problem
I’m gonna have to move
But until that day arrives
I’m gonna sing this groove

Bad plumbing
Isn't it great that good music can be inspired by so many things. A situation which was annoying for Mary, I guess, but fun for the listener! Solid groove this sits in. Feeling in the vocal. Good harmonies. Neat guitar fills. Congrats, KC!

PLUMBING
how do you do it? i can create lyrics from music, but for the life of me i can't transfer lyrics to melody. i feel restricted by the already-in-place words, i suppose. you made it work out well. nice team-up.

lyrics
Hi Sam, this was relatively easy...
The meter of the words was good
If the words have a good flow it is quite easy to put music under them
thanks for the kind words

BAD PLUMBING BLUES
Oh yeah, I've had my share of plumbing problems and it's always cost me too much ... I should have been a plumber ... I'de make good money and get to show off my butt crack too. Great groove you got going ... like the opening drum and how you've carried it through ... workin' real good with the bass. Keys are your distinctive KC sound as is the chorus. Like that lead sound. Great lyrics! .... and a good mix!

Hey!
Where did you get the picture of my bathroom plumbing!!?!

LOL I love this groove and tune but it made me depressed because my house should be bull-dozed to the ground so someone that is not insane could start fresh and build a "real" house. This thing never did qualify as a "real" house. But then again I'm pretty sure I've gone insane this last year so not sure how that is gonna work.

It was like someone had a little money and did a reality show called "sub-contractor wars" to see who could get their job done in 30 minutes and keep the rest of the seed money. They would have been given $25,000 to start and I'm sure every one of them walked away with $24,499.99 because everything in this house uses components I've seen donated for free to habitat for humanity!

The pipes rattle, the electrical looks like someone used speaker wire to feed the dryer, the wood where I an see it has nail holes from a previous build and depending up on the season the entire house which is aligned north to south for the most part leans towards the sun!

I kid you not. During summer there is a door I cannot open. During Winter it works fine but another door in another part of the house won't open. It works find during summer. The only thing would explain this based on the way the doors are aligned would be the entire house leaning north or south depending upon the season.

Anybody got a bull dozer I can borrow for about a month?

Great tune. Loved (and hated) every second of it!

bad
hey cees
i continue to be astonished at your prolific composing....and i feel bad for not having kept up with the listening. can't remember you doing a bluesy track....love this one - you keep it fresh and with sufficient variety to entertain. really dig the electric piano underneath everything. cool bass lick - it's repeated but never becomes repetitive. love the harmonies. i wanted a longer break on the guitar.....oh wait here comes another one....aw it's coming to a close....i could listen to at least another 2 verses of this....and as much guitar solo as you want. ha....funny spoken vocal at the end.

Very, VERY nice!!
I love the groove you've given to Mary's lyrics; this really rolls man!! Your vocal here is one of your best, full of great inflection (Mary must be so happy!) and the musicianship going into this is (as is your custom Cees) right on the money. Excellent, excellent work and congrats to you both for how great this turned out! Michael

BAD PLUMBING BLUES
Great bass tying everything together, Cees. Fine groove. The blues is often about the everyday and mundane and this is about as everyday as you can get :-) This could be the start of a whole franchise - got any electrical issues? Thanks, Peter.

So well-constructed.
I love the way you slide into the refrain with such ease. Now THAT is groovy! Production quality of this entire track is just about perfect in every way: smooth and clear vocal; excellent guitar fills (and general accompaniment); bass is interesting and placed so well in the mix that it is not ever overpowering; percussion (might be a loop)adds to the whole in an unobtrusive way that helps keep the beat alive from beginning to end. And who doesn't have plumbing problems?! Interesting lyrics that I'll bet you'll not find referred to anywhere else in the universe. Cool.
