Lyrics
Well i am just a shit with Shinola
Trying to make ends meet
Thinking about that state line
And the happy weight of my feet

Way out past that Mississippi river
Out in that deserted sea
Way out yonder where the buffalo wander
That is where you are going to find me

Wearing a winter coat to bed
Playing with the world inside my head
I’m looking down the line
Aint got that much time
Oh my oh my not that much time

Want to go to Canada with me my dear
We can start a new life way up there
You can write a book
And I can write a song
We can look for each other all night long

Living on sunshine
living on beans and rice
little black bag in my back seat
full of things I love
full of things I love

will you marry me
we can buy two houses side by side you see
take it or leave it that’s a fact
believe it or not it is a long way back

I listen to you breathing
I feel it inside
When I take a bath before bed
And I wash my worried head

So I took my clothes off today
lie down next to you
Yea lets go off to Canada my dear
We can start anew
We can start a new life way up there

Things I say in the evening
Don’t always make sense the next day
They might be filled with emotion
Not what I am trying to say

Two houses rockin' side by side
Sounds like a cut from your forthcoming album, "Exile on Rhode Island." Starts cooking-up really well at around 1:30 and the dark energy stays up there for the duration. Dig the anti-production aesthetic. The new-era marriage with "two houses side by side" is priceless...mighta saved MY marriage. (Luckily, it didn't!)

You are
probably the most creative person I know. How you fit so much into 3 or 4 minutes is hard for my tiny brain absorb. Tim I am envious, I really am. I am listening with phones because my wife is sleeping beside me and I am astonished by what I hear. I am also at a loss as to what to say about it... I love it seems so inadequate. So I'll take my free download and go.
Peace

It is a complement that you would listen in bed. The joy of creating something that I like is my main thrill and to have others like it as well is even better. I really appreciate your comments. I measure who good it is by if you comment....no pressure!

Unique vibe to this one, Tim. Really like the wry lyrics and the effected backer. Your phrasing and "accent" are classic. I am in awe of the work that went into this one. A blast! Thanks, Peter.

Way out yonder
Interesting guitar tone for the rhythm track. Rich vocal tone. Strong bass. Love the shuffly drums. Good arrangement - I like the increasing complexity and the variety. Cool swampy sound to the guitar that comes in. Good mix. Quality work, Tim.

you always have a story to tell and some killer lines. digged the brief break half way through. i also like the rough and tumble style here.

Nifty song, good rhythm guitar work. The low frequences are a bit blurred on my speakers. Even with headphones I can't really make out what's going on.

Hi Tim - you just win the creativity award hands down - this is really, really excellent. love your lyrics - somebody here called them "wry" which i think describes them very well. but it's the way you put everything together that always wows me - great work as usual - your songs are always a special treat!
