nothing like getting all analog with some digital sources - nice use of the gadgets - lots of restraint and appreciation for time and texture - i like it

not much
but this is as close as I can come no pussyfooting here amazing what you can do 3 different pieces of technology run through a cheap mixer its the direction and the thought of capturing all the tinkles of piano and floating synths warm and moving trippy 10 minutes

thanks tim
no pussyfooting...hmmm...hadnt considered that but you are right
perhaps i should try something similar for LSP2 (whoops have given the game away now)
i really quite enjoyed going 'lo fi' and low tech with this

Floating free
Ha-ha .. at first I thought you were telling a joke .. an iPhone, iPod and iPad walk in to a bar … : )

At a glance music like this seems so simple. Yet I find I don't have the ability to make s p a c e d o u t tracks like this. I always keep jamming to much into the voids .. instead of just letting it f l o a t f r e e.

I enjoyed the listen.

i should have finished the punchline
i thought the same as you when i saw it posted'
perhaps i should do a totally different challenge and get people to complete the joke
you are right about being tempted to add more and more - although i did add a few extra elements, i was very conscious of trying not to over do it...hopefully i achieved that goal

thank you for the listen and the comments

Floating
completely spaced out atmosphere. something very 'warm' about the sound.

thanks sammy
i ran the two output channels of the 8 track mixer straight into the built in mic port on my HP mackintosh

i was experimenting a bit with logic x and i have only just realised that i bounced the audio stem tracks down in mono before i started to mix the extra elements...maybe that contributes to the warmth?

Hi Bryn...
It's a great mix. You burst a bubble of mine by waking me up to not experiencing floating in space, but that was the gap between interstellar objects (or stellar objects). I'm all for floating in the space between my ears.

I enjoyed the gentle development of this mix. Just up my street, to listen to. The echo and delay bloomed in my mind.

Take care.

Paul

blooming with digital chemistry
so this was a kind of triple-bloom-without-cross-pollination, then? Nice tilt-shift-style effect on the photo, BTW. The bells... call to my ic42 brain cells :-) Nice gritty texture added throughout, added an almost submerged feel.

about floating in space, but now I can imagine it. Trippy, really ;-)

Space Bubble
Your piece conveys a sense of serenity and safety in the most dangerous of environments. I imagine that in the "near" future, when space tourism includes space walks, your piece could be the soundtrack playing in the tourists' helmets.
Great use of space and movement, with sprinkles of warm tones and intimacy. Loved it. Thanks for posting.

Stellar ambient piece
Nice use of Bloom. Eno is King of ambient in my book (along with some guys here at MJ :-) and seeing now he is behind this app made me go get it (downloading it now). Really enjoyed all the 10 minutes. The slightly increasing amount of sparklies helped.

Thanks and take care,
Henke

Cool!
I am curious how you got all three sources together. Hardwire or wireless? Its amazing how much sound you can generate from personal devices and so neat that you did it that way.

Eno word be proud
What a great idea to use multiple instances of Bloom. I've meant to use Bloom and Air together but got no further than the idea stage. You've achieved a very gentle kind of timelessness here Brynn. I could float in your melange for ages without sense of distraction or boredom. As Ex says, it's tough to pull off to keep just enough evolution going on to keep firing the old synapses.

Lovely
It takes an extraordinary amount of patience to produce music like this, I know. This is really, really nice. I like how you've made it too. I have Bloom on my phone; I've often thought that I should use it to make some music. Maybe I will one day. Eno and Chilvers would approve with how you've used their baby, I'm sure.
