Description
This is a mix that I put together whilst thinking about scary moments in my childhood. The main one was seeing the Cybermen on Doctor Who.

The soundscape is another experiment in putting sounds together.

Cyber creepy
The Cybermen, yes. I was more bothered by the Daleks actually. I vividly remember the episode when they first made their debut. William Hartnell was the Doctor; the toilet plunger appeared just before the show's end credits and the wonderful sig. tune. That's all you saw! A long week followed, as I recall. 50 years old! It's quite amazing.

This mix would definitely make good a soundtrack to one of the episodes.

Hi Dave....
I well remember the Cybermen. Watching from behind the sofa/couch. The daleks didn't bother me, even the black dalek.

The only wierd thing I remember was an episode where the doctor was on 'the roof of the world' and I couldn't picture that in my mind.

The mix is one of my recent experimental mixes, for both effect and Ambient style.

Take care.

Paul

A slow burner!
Effective though. I was sort of expecting a scream at the end.

I never really got too scared by Dr Who but Popeye had some pretty unpleasant characters that left me unable to sleep at one time. They were called Goons I believe.

Cheers

Not familiar with...
...The Cybermen, but this track does have a scary quality to it. Given the right visuals, this could really creep me out. I think you accomplished your goal, and that is always a very big plus when composing something like this. Also, the focus of this number is quite different from many of your space odyssey offerings, so it is special in that regard, too. Glad I caught it.

Cybermen
This one is minimalist even by your standards Paul. I think I know why you chose it that way though since the effect is all the more full of dread. One waits for the next tone change and whether it will bring something jumping out of the woodwork so to speak - as Dick said, it would be a scream.

I'd say your experimental mix is working just fine.

Cheers Paul,
Doug

PS - I can remember being quite young when first watching Dr. Who and getting really frightened to the point where I wouldn't watch it again for a long while.
