Lyrics
Once there was a suit filled with the Tailor's lies
Told a Grifter's story to every set of eyes
He never cared who he was talking' to
I know it wasn't me, not so sure it wasn't you

Move toward the light
(My arms are reaching for you)

Experimental, perhaps not, because I hear a deep understanding of this style. It's a journey of genres, sounds, and spoken words.
I'm glad the portal was available...

Thanks for the kind words. At the end of the jam the proffet synth plays the organizing scale. The nominal key is Bb. But the scale starts a whole tone above the root and alternates minor and major thirds as it extends. Safe to say few people using dat scale at MJ, so until they make a genre for me, I have to do the best I can to select the fitting genre. Unless it's about fun, this piece is serious fun.

i'd almost call this a "dramatic conglomeration", or a textured collage of sound. i think i prefer the latter. completely kicked my ass when the brass came in, those arrangements always get me. the instrumental following Blue Skys (ha! i really can hit "shift") added a whole nuther level--that jammed.

Hello Sammy
Won't put a bag or hang a sign on me my friend. Thanks for coming by. Appreciate the kind words. The pitches in the opening horns are two whole tones apart, to scare away evil. Don't see any do ya? Works every time it's tried.
That groove is in four,
but notice the groups of five and seven in the turn arounds? That's not even fair :)

Unclassifiable
This semiosphere place is a bit confusing isn't it?

A lot going on there by the sound of it.

Headphones recommended.

Cheers

Hello Dick
Naw not confusing really, the place "the Semiosphere" is where cultural understanding is transcended, where brainwashing becomes improvable and folks regain their lost identity. I agree, the panning and sound design make use of the whole stereo field. I needed all the room I could get for the concept to work best.

My cans must feel voilated in a Twelve Monkeys kind of way...but that's good no?.,,On the second play there was more anticipation for that groove the Semiosphere prefaced.

12 tones
The little atonal riff at the end of the horn entrance was not completed in one take like the rest of the guitar on this piece.
That little solo took me a while to get, it's speedy and moves against the rhythm on the background. It's called "Hell Solo" in the DAW. It caused me to realize that my chops are not what they once were... too much keyboard going on in the house.

Ominous opening that morphs into a cacophony of music and message. Good to hear the "daug" get a solo. Not an easy listen but you have my admiration for the concept and the execution. Bigger in scope than Ben Hur. Regards, Peter.

Hello Peter
Ben Hur? In cinemascope ah? If I could have thought of a way to make the thing bigger I would have... I would have tried it. Lots of contrasts in this piece. That's the best way to make things sound bigger imho. I played all the synth and the piano solos as well... I have to piece the keys together, most the guitar is one take (see above).

Unnervingly interesting
Great sonic trip but I feel all "twitchy" after it all...dunno. Incredible mixing all the way through.

Hello Andy
Can you see? I mean, imagine, someone attempting to supervise me on this project? In fact, just imagine a keeper attempting to get between me and the Muse. Naw. Not happening.

A little spooky and futuristic...
and that means great. I just love this type of stuff really. A little soundtrack like (though soundtrack music does not always have to literally be for films I think). Thick and dark. And the cover art is disturbing too!
