Description
This song is the culmination of things I went through in 2011-12. At the end of 2010, I had just completed an album with the group Side Effect, and at the beginning of 2011 I was in the studio working on my solo album when I got real sick. Turns out I had high blood pressure (which caused my kidneys to fail and started my stint with dialysis) and I had congestive heart failure. I was in the hospital for most of 2011 and had valve replacement surgery in March of 2012. I came out of the hospital March 27th of 2012 and wrote this song about three months later to thank my wife for sticking in there with me. Hope you guys like it.

Lyrics
Thank You (Sticky)
Barry Jackson, Rufus Clay

You are the lady
That brightens up my day
So glad you're here baby
You help me find my way
You stuck in there with me
In the mist of the storm
And when I was cold you held me close
And kept me safe and warm, thank you

Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there with me
Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there with me
Better than Elmer's Glue
Crazy Glue won't do
Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there (with me)

When I was down and out
And you wouldn't let me do without
Cause you stuck by me everyday
love the way that you held me down, down, down
Like that stash up in the bank
I never had a second thought to think
You would spend any more
Than what you asked me for
That's sticky

Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there with me
Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there with me
Better than Elmer's Glue
Crazy Glue won't do
Thank you for sticky - icken
Sticky in there

Elmer's won't do
Crazy won't glue
Thankful for you
You do what you do
So sticky

Love Is The Glue...
... that helps us stick around. Beautiful pipes, Barry and this sounds great. The older we get, the more the body rebels from a lifetime of use, misuse and abuse. I know, I've had my share the past few years. But I'm glad you pulled through and are still around making some beautiful noise, my friend. ;)

Thanks

Feels nostalgic for another era, with a strong heart.
This would sound equally as good just a cappella, the backing vocals are
spot on. Love it.

Barry,
Take care of yourself, that talent needs to stick around too. This is so smooth. Great job on the vocals, but the whole arrangement is top notch.

Thank You
Great slice of RnB and positivism. Wonderful vocals and arrangement. Fantastic production. Great to hear things are on the improve. I know the drag that dialysis brings, too. Luckily I had a transplant a couple of years ago, now, and things are going just fine. Take care, Peter.

Maaaaan...
This is Maaaad voices solid groove, deadly mix...
Great tune I know the hook is "Sticky" but at times
it sounds like your saying I know that is not
the case but the keyboard note bounces off the word
somehow and changes the tone...
But over all it's right on point, everything's on the Money.

Well done...4....Sure

Interesting sounds
right out of the shoot. Cool beats and very nice easy going singing right in tune! Like the background sounds as well. The beats really fit right in . Again very cool soul singing!
