Description
Bob Rodgers wrote, performed and posted this recently, and I was so blown away by it I asked him if I could do some lyrics. He kindly assented, and then encouraged me to post the tune with my singing , so here it is. I love the changes in this. They are what make it such a pleasure to sing along.

Lyrics
On the Mountain

We climb because we dare
I'm here because it's there

On the mountainside
There on the mountain, mountainside

Ooh

There's no question, there's no answer
There's no singer, there's no dancer

On the mountainside

You'll find the answer on the mountainside

I used GB, but I think Bob is using more professional stuff.

well
that was quite excellent. love tunes that have different 'moods' within itself. too bad i can't write em. but tunes like this are satisfying enough.

For once
I can agree with you, as I didn't write or play on this. The "Ho hum" bit was the first thing I added, and that set the Hobbit - esque tone. Thanks, Bob for providing such an inspirational backdrop for the lonely goatherd.

Fun on a hill.
I was anxious to use the new mike. the "Ho - hum" bits were the first things I used it for. I think it all turned out nicely, and I'm glad you think so too.

You've done an excellent job here Graham and I love all your additions.
I’m pleased that I made a better mix before I sent it to you, especially with the ambient section.
Again many thanks.

Bob

Me too.
I enjoyed listening to this on the HATS system this morning on the way to work. Everything was clear as a bell. Let's do this again sometime.

A new gem
I liked the original a lot. The additions here make this like a second variant release which is also really great. Love those harmonies Graham - your additions are spot on and in excellent taste.

This is almost a haunting piece somehow, not because it's dark in any way but once it gets into my head I either hear it over and over or want to play it again. Thanks guys, and again I appreciate the extra dload!

It's the narrative
- Plodding up the hill in search of enlightenment, the windy vista, more plodding, then something happens at the end. Maybe Smaug shows up, or Gandalf on an eagle. That's what attracted me to it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it again, Doug.

Yeti rock!
I wouldn't be too surprised if there is indeed a reggae band or two in Tibet. Thanks for listening, Dick.

Your vocals sound better than ever, Graham. Good work there, and the lyrics are appropriately intangible. OOOOO-uh. Love that part. The down middle section is courageous, and I think it's terrific. And like you, I love the changes, including the chord changes. I guess that was Bob's doing. An excellent collaboration, and DLed for future listening.

Bob done that bit
But the "Oh - um" is © Crappicorp Music 2013, all rights reserved in a box under the stairs. The Audio Technica USB mike seems like a good deal, and a considerable step up from the pinhole one on my iMac. I look forward to more collabs - never thought I'd be providing vocals, I have to say. Good to hear from you, Les. Now get working on "Christmas with Kloo." (Cracks whip.)

It's a shame MJ was down for maintenance, as a lot of folks will have missed this. Plus Bob and I don't get so much in royalties. Sigh.

Fascinating...
How a musical soundscape can evoke so many different responses among its listeners. Yours, Graham, is a lovely one and you've given a pithy message to Bob's tune. Really a very fine marriage of tune and lyrical concept. ;)

and I latched onto my interpretation of Bob's fantastic tune. I really like this tune and I'm very happy that others like my interpretation too. Thanks.

Excellent treatment...
Bob writes some wonderful music and I'm sure he must be both highly flattered and greatly pleased after listening to your solid work on this. Very cinematic in a way, especially with that break that kind of held me in suspense wondering where the song was going next. You ALWAYS do excellent work Graham, and here's another example. Thanks again and wishing you and yours the very best this season! Michael

Merry Crimble, Michael
I so enjoyed doing the vocals on this (I even did some on the middle bit, but it sounds like a synth). Thank you for the Xmas cheer, Michael. I'm off to listen to your latest.
