Description
A song that came out of my sleep apnea and waking up almost every night between Midnight and One. It is in the form of 114411441155441155 in the key of A. Everything is real except for the bass which is Garageband.

Love it!
Another good song, Bronco. Sounds like you're using the
pinhole mic. For the music you do it works very well,
giving your music a certain authenticity. Sounds like it
could have come from Elvis' Sun Sessions era.

The Apnea Blues
Sorry about your disorder, Tom, but I guess this is a good
use of your time. Have you tried one of those nose-strips
that football players used to wear?

You're for real. I wouldn't suggest changing a thing. This
is another one of those 'homegrown' pieces of yours from
yesteryear that seems to appear like a ghost on the night
wind.

Good ol' blues
Nice, genuine blues song, Bronco. Good playing and
singing. I enjoyed it. I'd like to hear you sing into a more
proper mic though, rather than the pinhole. It's not really
a matter of fidelity, more just so it doesn't sound like
you're across the room while your guitar and harp are up
front. I like the rawness; just would like to hear a more
consistent sense of space.

Good ol' blues
For aclarke, tom, and prgreenstone,
Thanks for the kind words. My mic is a Shure SM58 and everything was done
through it - vocal, guitar and harmonica. This has been an ongoing mystery
as to why I am continually told that my vocals aren't up front, lack prescence,
sound like I am in a box, too far away from the mic, etc. I run my Mac
through a Sony receiver and Bose speakers and the vocals sound okay to me.
I and my partner Tracy sing no more than two inches from the mic. My sound
pattern is so full that I am scared if I get closer than that I will get distortion.
In Garageband I have stopped using any reverb or echo on the vocal. The only
effects I had was compression with the slider all the way to the left, and eq
bringing up the bass and turning down treble a little. If I turn all effects off I
don't notice very much change in the sound except the volume goes down.
I'm not trying to sound authentic. This is just me and the way I sing and
sound. But I do appreciate your comments and thanks for listening.

Good ol' blues
That's curious. You mention no effects on the vocals. What effects or
settings, if any, are being applied in the GarageBand Master Track?

Good ol' blues
What about the room you and Tracy are singing in? Is it large? Lively? Wood
floors? Tile? I have mentioned before sometimes it sounds like you are all
jamming in your living room. Can you record the vocals in a smaller space?
Once again, I suggest trying a closet, if possible.

And
As Adam Clark said, another good song. I enjoyed your
song, singing and guitar performance.

Nice tune!
I enjoy this style of blues. Just a guy and his guitar telling a story.

I like the way the vocals sound, however I think the "spaciness" comes from the room you are in.

another goodie...
... a sort of weary blues lullaby. You're so productive. At
least you're putting your lack of sleep to good use.
