Description
This is a traditional folk song. I don't know to much about it. But I thought I would do my own version of it.

Nice indeed
You just can't beat the beautiful, simple folk songs. Especially when you are playing that beautiful guitar accompaniment. Really like what you are doing with the singing. Have you been practicing your singing more or have you just held out on us all these years.

Thanks Tom
I think it is a matter of certain songs with sustain. What I mean by that is if you get a real wordy song. Such as a story song with words installed like Dylan-ish type they lower the sustain as compared to a more classic folk style like Roger Whitaker that has less words and more sustain. But I've always loved the art of the folk song and it is also putting your priorities in what you want to practice. Because I've done so many instrumentals i put an emphasis on that. But being that the first person I idolized was Elvis as a 14 year old kid. I thought of him at that age as the cat's meow:^) Thanks again Tom!

Red
Like sitting near a crackling hearth your finger style on this folk song is warm and familiar. Playing and singing are spot on Bill. Sound is clear and clean. Thanks for the Christmas present. Best to you.

I am a sucker
for ballad type of folk songs. Especially those irish heartbreakers. Still have not found who did it originally but i found it was a "traditional" one. Thanks

Soundin' Good
Hey, Bill... I'm so glad to hear you doing more singing. You're really developing your own voice — and it's a very good one. This style, which takes me back to my musical beginnings, seems to suit you very well. Just honest... and pure. Love it! ;)

So pretty!
I've never heard this song before (my background in Irish music comes from watching old John Ford movies!) and it's a lovely piece. Bill, your guitar work, as always, is a thing to behold; you give that instrument a brilliant life of it's own when you play it and I feel this is one of your best vocals, very smooth and lyrical in its inflections. All round professional work and I had a very nice time listening, thank you!
