Description
This was a little tune I had in mind and threw it at Rob and Donnie at our last jam with the groove hounds. One take with the godin acoustic electric plugged in to my fender amp for the rhythm track and drums and bass. I added a guitar picking track panned left and with my keys using GB sounds I added banjo. polka accordion and a church organ. The clarinet at the end is a chopped up loop.

Stan Gadziola
guitar, banjo, accordion,organ, vocals, mix
Rob George
bass
Donnie MacNeil
drums

Rolls along beautifully - love the feel of this! The drums are important in that - Donnie does a fine job of keeping things moving along. Solid bass and the interments you've added give colour. Vocal tells the story well and the guitars shine. Excellent work, Stan!

Insistent ballad of the highest order, Stan. The hounds are running interference so nicely, too and your vocal story telling is first class. An uptempo track that was cut from "Desire". A pity! Fine work. Regards, Peter.

Americana! Dig this Stan. This reminds me a lot of a good friend, singer songwriter and former bandmate of mine out of Nashville, Jace Everett. Check him out on Youtube if you get a sec. This is really well done, great vocal.

...you guys are just something else!! Sincerest accolades to you, Rob and Donnie--you have a sound and style (and production!) that should be on the airwaves and more, and I mean that. Thanks for sharing this Stan!

Clean and classic
Sounding great Stan and other hounds. Very tight and tasty, and a superbly clean and crisp mix. Words and vocals are spot on - this could easily be on the radio. Excellent post indeed.

BAcking band...
...I've rarely heard such a tight ensemble. Every note is spot on with precision, the bass and rhythm guitar just about as solid as one can get. The whole song is tightly wound. (I could have used the lyrics, but my hearing is going these days.) Nicely performed, nicely produced. A pleasure to hear such solid work.

great job!
Paul is right about the precision, quite a feat to make a mix with so many instruments sound this tight. Excellent performances throughout.

Catchy, original and an interesting sound for a genre I don't usually enjoy as much as I just enjoyed this song!

What's going on at MJ??!!
Everybody seems to have discovered how to be a recording engineer. When I listen to folks earlier tunes they seem to have suddenly discovered how to produce music. This is another great example. First off its an excellent and entertaining song in its own right. Next, though, there is the treat of every element sitting right down in the mix without any dirt. What can I say except well done!

Hello Stan!
Always a treat to hear your posts, this is a really tough rhythm/beat/style to pull off w/o sounding like a hillbilly from the 60's in a spaghetti western, not that that's a bad thing, you pulled it off though, Pretty cool dude! Jd.
