Description
This is actually quite an old song of mine which I had recorded, but I was never really happy with. I wasn't until recently that I decide to re-work it. The original was standard guitar, bass, drums etc. This new version is using mostly midi piano plus my first go at slide guitar!
Hope you guys like it and I look forward to your comments.

I quite enjoyed this ....
The slide works ... I am a sucka for piano ..... if I had heard an instrumental version without the vocals ... I would have been inspired to sing all over it ! heh !

Hey Adam
not sure I've heard you before? I've not been around in quite awhile, anyhooo, nice job dude, vocals are a little pitchy but sort of in a cool way, maybe try a lower key for your voice? Piano sounds great and so does the slide! Nice song man! Jd.

Thanks
I have been on here for years, but don't get around to posting on a regular basis.
I don't class myself as a decent singer so hopefully people can see past the faults, if it is pitchy in a cool way thats ok with me! I'd much rather be out of tune than use Autotune!

My Time to Fall
Nice one, Adam. The vocals are authentic and heartfelt. The keys backing works very well. Some subtle, tasty slide as well. Fine performance. Thanks, Peter.

What a great tune
The piano sounds great and I'm digging that George Harrison style guitar. Your vocals Emote well and you have a good voice.

Great lyrics
Nicely done. Really enjoyed the piano accompanyment. The song structure and lyrical content and melody style remind me of something Dream Theater would do. I can see this as a huge rocker ballad with big guitar and drums, but it works just as well in its current intimate setting.

Nice Arrangement
I like the way you put this together, Adam. It's a very clean arrangement and you deliver the lyrics with honest emotion.

On the technical side, I think the instruments overpower the vocal a bit and part of the problem may be the room. The vocal sounds like it was recorded in a small, untreated space. That might be alright if everything else was equal, but that's not the case... part of the problem with electric and MIDI instruments, which both come with their own unique sonic properties. ;)

Thanks Joe
I record in my spare bedroom at home, I don't have a 'treated' space to record in. Where do think is the best place to record in when you only have a normal house?

Treated Space
You can treat any space *on the cheap* by adding absorptive furniture, carpeting, heavy drapes, pillows, etc. You can also create a cheapo mini isolation booth with a box lined with foam... search youtube for "DIY Vocal Isolation cabinet" for ideas. Few of us have the luxury of a *tuned-and-treated* recording space, but there are easy measures to make them better. ;)
