Description
I had a melody in my head this week and turned on garageband and thought I would put down a rough guitar track so I wouldn't forget it. Well I couldn't stop and ended up spending the whole day on it... I used 2 tracks with my 63 jazz master and added 2 tracks with my godin acoustic/electric for the noodling. I used GB acoustic bass with my midi keys and Kontakt's strings for the violin. I used automation to try and breath some life into the strings but nothing replaces the real thing.

I did the painting in acrylic on a very large canvas....

Very nicely done. The sounds here decorate the audio canvas as much as your painting does in the visual landscape! Beautiful work...

it's really
rare, and sort of difficult for me to 'not think anything' for more than a few seconds. but while listening to this, i actually got to drift away for a few minutes. no other thoughts other than focusing on the music. just so gentle.

i had to use my virtual magnifying glass again to try to see the pic details. i like the mood and warmth of the shades you used.

This has a very "live", organic feel, Stan. Kind of like there was a rough outline to follow but everyone brought their own inspiration to the jam as it evolved. Thanks, Peter.

I can hear why you were romanced by this gem. What a lovely melancholy tune. The strings are great- I don't know what you're taking about! A real nice "live" sound to the whole thing, sounds like a groovy afternoon jam. The treble seems a little hot, but that could just be me. Thanks!

Atmospheric, with a gentleness that could be melancholy or satisfaction. I like the different guitar tones and the violin is a strong focal point throughout. Beautiful work, Stan.

Mellow jazz...
Certainly gets under one's skin. The free flow of ideas and the occasional blue note all highlight the thoughtful melancholy you are trying to describe in sound. (Do I hear a little of "Young At Heart" seeping into this now and again?) Certainly is a thoughtful number. Artwork is cool, too. Reminds me of a peace symbol sitting on the stage of a large theatre...floating on a sea of blue.
