Description
Another electro-classical tune, this time a Debussy composition. I've mashed this one up pretty well, totally re-voiced. It's a shortened version, I've cut out the last minute or so. It's a wonderfully atmospheric piece and I hope I've captured that a little. Three soft synths used, Omnisphere, Alchemy and the Zebra 2.

Once again, apologies to people who prefer listening to the original. I have altered it quite a lot.

Thanks if you do listen, feedback welcomed of course! 320 kbps MP3, if you want it.

Almost reminds
me of the famous song when the lyrics start off "There's a place for us, not sure if it was called Evergreen by Barbra Streisand. But it had that effect. I just loved that effect she had as the intro and you seem to be able to get into that groove. Way to go!

Love how that

The Sunken Cathedral
Nice choice of sounds, for sure. Wonderful sense of space. That ethereal choir-like synth towards the end is a winner. Thanks, Dave. Regards, Peter.

Hi Dave......
I like this arrangement. Debussy is always good to play with electronically. It's as though he anticipated the electronic music era and left the dynamic structure of his pieces for others to 'interpret' and re-arrange.

I'll be adding this to my listening list.

Take care.

I've not heard the original..but must go and listen soon.
Clair de Lune is one of my favourite pieces of classical music.
A very calming and beautiful piece of music with well thought out and well laid out instrumentation.
I love the vocal samples coming at 2 min.
Eee! I'm all chilled out now…and it's only 11,35 am ;-)
cheers and thanks for download

I really enjoy
these modern interpretations of the classics, the sounds you use fit beautifully. Even if I did know the originals better I think I'd prefer this before a slightly "off" version in traditional style.

Also I have a history with cathedrals, as I believe we have discussed earlier (real ones, like Liverpool's two great examples, as well as musical ones such as Narad's Cathedral pieces here at MJ). So this is a treat for me :-) Thanks for the download!

Take care,
Henke

I remember
hearing this when I was quite young and was mesmerised just by the haunting thought of a cathedral standing under the sea, especially when the bells rang. This is a particularly lovely version which doesn't seem anywhere near being haunted or haunting...... synths make it sound more up to date and very pleasant .......I did want it to go on longer though Dave, Cheers M

Beautiful arrangement
You are doing such wonderful things with your reorchestrations. Great choice of instruments and the general MIX is so delicately imagined and performed, too. I love the gentle, ethereal qualities you've pulled out of this through masterful manipulation of reverb and balance. Marvelous piece that does the original homage while presenting it in a new, fresh manner. Wow.

Sounds amazing Dave!
You really know how to get the best out of those synths. For some reason I'm seeing Sinead O'Connor onstage with David Crosby ..... and Rick Wakeman :)
Love it!

You're really Isao Tomita, right?
Nailed this one David my lad. A brilliant rendition full of atmosphere and a fresh enough take to earn a new place in the hall of fame. The Doo vocal is perfect btw, as are all of the choices you made in terms of the orchestration sounds.

Do you intend to finish this one? Can I entice you to finish it?

Thanks for the dload sir. This is very good indeed. Very good.
