Description
An old one rediscovered (completed on 28/4/2013). Something like a soundtrack mix. (Not putting much more in here in case it doesn't upload again).

Around five minutes.

Cool classic Reinholt space ambient
With some nice sparkling bells, if not whistles. Actually some whistles too! Being over 9 minutes (rather than 5 :-) I think you might have honored it with a decent fade to silence, rather than a crude cut, but maybe that's just me ;-) A nice listen anyway.

Thanks and take care,
Henke

Hi Henke....
I should have listened to the mix a few more times before uploading. The ending did sound OK to me but I see where you're coming from about the fade-out. It would benefit from a gradual fading of the volume.

I also should have checked again the length of the mix. I listened to it and closed the music player before confirming the length and thought it was only five minutes. I really must pay more attention to my own mixes. These days my mind is on at least two things in parallel on my computer plus other stuff and I can only do one thing at a time (properly), especially where ears or hands are involved.

Thanks for listening and your excellent observations. You make some good points.

Take care.

Paul

The Spaceman
Rides again....this is what you do, and you do it better than most. Always interesting and patient in your approach.

Hi Chris....
Thanks for your very kind comments. I'm going to remember this when I lack ideas for a new soundscape. I hope that it will spur me on to creativity.

Take care.

Dreaming
A sense of anticipation and uncertainty threads this piece. Held in suspension. A quick, but momentary, change of perspective at 3:00, looking at the same thing from a different vantage point --- then back for a closer examination. Focus sharpens past 5:00, but the questions remain. Our attention wavers, then returns in force. Still,no clarity, Perhaps we will never know.

Hi Duane....
My dreams are like your description of the mix!! I have recurring dreams on two or three themes and I've had these since the early seventies (in one case) and I know people in the dreams and where the dream is taking place but nothing is concluded. It's variation on a theme.

Thanks for stopping by to listen. This old mix was a lucky find in a moment of need.

Take care.

Still Dreaming
In space, no can can hear your apprehension... :-) And the tension builds beautifully here, Paul. Sounded great through my monitors. Spacious, sweeping and surreal. Nice one. Take care, Peter.

Hi Peter......
I'm glad you enjoyed the listening experience. I always wonder if listeners hear something decent, as I record everything and listen to everything I do via headphones only as I live in a flat with neighbors below me and above, so I can't have the bass shaking the building.

Take care.

Dreaming in the Starry Void
I agree with Duane, this is full of anticipation - in the exploratory way. For me this represents the ability to move through starfields, past glowing gas and opaque dust, and stars. Countless stars.

The change at 3:00 is interesting. It took me a few moments to reorient myself with respect to the music. In the first part I realised that I was knowing the stars and nebulae directly but was not aware of how I was moving through them. After 3:00 I recognised I was in some kind of craft that, upon knowing that, restricted what I was able to experience outside to some degree.

Patiently developed, with lots of sparkly interesting bits and wholesale waves of meaning that come and go. Another classic. Cheers Paul.
