The Devil's Looking Glass

Description
During 2013 I was invited by Anthony Frazier of A Flat Broke Film Productions LLC to help create the soundtrack for The Devil's Looking Glass. A superstition of the Cherokee Nation who avoided the area out of fear of the images in the rock cliff. In that vicinity many unforeseen occurrences have taken place. The movie chronicles some of the events.

I'm including 4 scenes from the soundtrack for your listening pleasure.
There's no video just a background image. The film was released on the east coast during April.

I noticed i uploaded the wrong track it is mono. You can download the uncompress version used for the movie

Lots of dynamics
I like the twists and turns this takes, I understand
that they are segments of the picture, love the blend
and clean space of the track...

Very well done my Friend...

Twist and turns
makes for the drama. clean space is using a stereo enhancer to cut down on the reverb mud
each instrument is using their own effects this gives it the depth, a 3D effect.
Thanks again!

Y Mono
when i rendered the mp3 for mac jams i use a video app should of used Logic 9 to compress it
that's why i included the link to the uncompressed aif version available for download in in the description area. the chase scene was the must difficult and the only music i could let others hear, but I called for people for their auditor Visions! (lol)

Many
different moods conveyed here. Suspense, turbulence, determined drive. I can see these being quite effective in a film. There was break up on some of the sections. Still your creativity comes through.
Cheers,
Charlie

Impressive work here. Lots of variety in what's happening, and in the instrumentation. It has that cinematic tension that goes with movies. Much enjoyed!

Wide spectrum ....
...of film images. It would be great to hear them in the context of the film, but what you have here as a sample of your concept and orchestration is really impressive. You draw on so many different instruments and treat each with care and precision. The flute passage around 1:35 or so with the very gentle backing is really quite wonderful. There is a lot to learn from your handling of an orchestra and I intend to listen to this track a number of times. very impressive work!

wide spectrum
Your explanation is exact. Every instrument is unique and is processed to match the characteristic of that instrument. This gives space to instruments not one flat dimension
sounds like you listened intensely to the music. Thank you for your encouraging words

The Devil's Looking Glass
Plenty of tension and sudden dynamic shifts, Steve. Sounds expertly put together. Also sounds pretty dam good in mono. Quality post. Thanks, Peter.

A -real- and professional, "cinematic soundtrack"

Very masterfully done, and it sounds great in mono.

I like the wide and unexpected variety of sounds ... including a tiny nod to Psycho.   And, also, the use of silence.   Each sound seems to have been mixed well, for and by itself, then artfully blended.   As I listen to the track and close my eyes, I can visualize how the scene on film might have played out.

Also ... this area of Tennessee, USA, is “my neck o’ the woods,” and I have personally hiked very close to where that picture was taken.   And, yes, camped nearby at night.   Some call the place spooky and “haunted.”   I simply find it to be beautiful.   You can see many faces in these rocks, including this picture.
