Lyrics
Worse Than a Dog

It doesn't matter if they're hungry
It doesn't matter if they're fed
It doesn't matter if they're living
It doesn't matter if they're dead

After all, you're the Wonder of the Universe
There's no one like you

It doesn't matter if you're lonely
It doesn't matter if you're sad
It doesn't matter if your uncle
Said something bad about your dad

After all...

Bow and scrape to Fearless Leader
Bow and scrape some more

It doesn't matter if you're crazy
It doesn't matter if you're sane
It doesn't matter if you're lazy
It doesn't even take a brain

After all...

Ease on down that road to ruin
Ease on down that road

After all...

Don't forget -
We hate you

Hey Graham you're creating some good tunes these days .... and I'm recognizing your style now ... it is influenced by 60's music especially your approach to vocals .... that bass line at about 2:20 is a little Michael Jackson-ish .... Billy Jean. Good words as always.

A complete steal
I was just horsing around at the time, but kept it. Sam encouraged me to sing, and I'm finding ways round my limited range. (ie get Sam to do it.) This is one that David finished before the big wait for the new kit (even more astonishing than the old kit!) Also, I just noticed this is an older version, and not the one I intended to post. Bugger. Never mind, this one's not too bad. Cheers, Stan.

Cool
Yes, I was going for cool vocals to contrast the villain's perception of himself with the awful reality. Glad you enjoyed it, KC.

I like how the right hand speaker jumps in with the guitar hits. Guitars in general are really cool, and your use of the rhythm section is varied and interesting.
"Limited range" - hah - listen to some singers who got to be very big with limited ranges! We all just deal with what we've got and you've done so very well here.
Nice post.
Cheers from Oz,
N

Bond theme
I just got my new ART preamp and the intro was the first thing that came out. The rest was composed on the bass. Then David did his stuff on drums. The version I meant to post has some production tricks in it, but is essentially the same, so I won't repost. Thanks for taking the time, Neil.

Great vocals here...
I really like the sound you are getting with that vocal harmony. Generally, the whole mix is very very tight.

I tried to get a sneer into the vocals, I don't know if you can tell. I got the melody from the bassline somehow. Thank you for listening, Paul.

Great retro style vocals, Graham. A very catchy song, especially given the lyrics :-) The drums sound super solid and those 60's guitar tones and panning suit the song so well. The vocal outro is a classic. Fine work. Thanks, Peter.

I am RetroMan
I try and come up with something catchy, whichever part I'm doing. I can rely on David for terrific drumming, and until I recruit a bass player and a keyboard player, the rest is up to me. It's fun. Thank you for your comments, Peter.

Like the dark side
Dark chords mixed with the melodic vocals, what a cool angle. Dig the guitar tone and percussion is especially cool. Another nice one from your collection.

It is sort of dark
I just thought, "This is cool" when I did the first Bond - ish guitar, and the rest ensued. The bass created the vocals - does that happen a lot? I don't know. Thank you for listening, Mr Feel.

Wonder of the universe
A bad situation there. Well, "bad" doesn't quite capture it. I doubt that he would get the sarcasm … until the last bit. This song is an exemplar of sparseness. Good work.

Understatement
He should get it, as he was educated in the West.Who knows? Dennis says he's a great guy. So what's stopping him from changing things? The military/industrial complex? Is there one there? Anyroad, time to encourage you to do a new one, and to say thank you.

Hey, Tony
People will find any way of discriminating - even if we were all clones. But I'm glad you enjoyed this. I like the guitar hook, and David's drums, as ever. He reads my mind somehow. The percussion certainly works well here.

I'm not a vocalist
so that's quite a compliment right there. David's drums are excellent as usual. The guitars and bass are what I can squeeze out of less than great instruments. A poor workman blames his tools, but in this case I have good reason. But the real reason is me being cheap. Anyroad, thank you for your kind words.

I loved the use of harmonies and the sparse guitar.

Limited range? HA!

Interesting arrangement. I like the way you use the different guitar sounds. The song has a "get inside your head" quality to it. Much enjoyed!

Thank you, Philip
I like the "spy guitar" at the beginning. Then I like the hop, skip and jump of David's drumming - he has a distinctive style that livens up every tune in a satisfying way.
