Description
One pass improv using Akai MPX8 sampler and Arturia Microbrute analog synth though some guitar pedals and a small Mackie 4 channel mixer. All samples from my own stuff except manipulated vocal sample from Tonto's Expanding Headband.
Still can't play guitar due to shoulder injury so this is my new stage rig for upcoming gig with 4 piece combo Collapsible Shoulder.

Organ sounds...
Those deep tones strike me as a magnificent pedal tone on a large pipe organ...This is such a cool track, Bud. There appears to be a city of electronic living beings surging through capacitors and wires and diodes and such, just simmering beneath the surface of human experience, waiting, patiently, to burst upon the human scene in surprising, maybe frightening, ways. What a great-sounding soundscape you've created here. And, somehow, it is strangely peaceful as well. Remarkable.

As usual Paul - you are so generous in your comments
the deep tones that you refer to were created on the synth and then sampled at the request of Chris Cochrane the guitarist I am playing with in Collapsible Shoulder. He asked for a bowed double bass in D as a layer to perform with. I tried to find isolated double bass tracks to sample and ended up creating a sound on the synth that I thought worked. It's interesting to analyze sounds and try to replicate them with analog gear as opposed to grabbing a symphony jam pack and playing the digital instrument. Which I tried to do BTW - but my new computer/GB program won't open my old files for some reason. The other bits came together through random experimentation - and I got lucky I guess. Thanks for painting a scene based on what you were hearing - and taking the time to share your thoughts.

There is something wonderful about the sound of analogue synth's. Love the vocal manipulation ... well I must say I enjoyed listening to this very original piece.

Like everyone else so far ...
I found this to be a layered sound of coolness. Nice job for a wounded guitarist ;)

i pretty
much liked everything about this arrangement--the sombre tone, the feeling of microscopic motion, the ominous pretense. even the length was perfect.

Wall of sound...
... pressing in. Foreboding and yet inviting. Really an amazing intersection of sounds and pulsating music. Kudos!

Cheers Jack!
Thanks for the kind words. I guess foreboding is my default setting.

MPX8 tonight
The bowed bass killer. Definitely has a deep foreboding tension to it. Shades of the suspense of the EraserHead soundtrack (though it's been years since I heard it) to my ears. I'm always impressed by your electronic experimentation and ingenuity. I think the keys (and their limitations--or not) are growing on you. Kule track.

Bowed bass - good memory
I created the opening synth loop (bowed bass attempt) at the request of Chris for a Collapsible Shoulder tune. Thought about pulling out the modified Peavey bass but was too lazy. Yeah - this electronic future is where it's at.
