Description
Funk tune from my 2014 release, Come In Funky. It is a reviewers favorite, after Forrest's Fire, on the CD, and is my wife's favorite of the straight up Funk tunes, so I thought I'd share it here.

I picked the title "Hitchhiker Tales" because the opening reminded me of Route 66, with a little Twilight Zone thrown in. I use that idea in my video, too. The music video can be viewed via my YouTube channel: TobinMueller on YouTube. Here is the direct link:

Other tracks from the album, mostly pre-mastered, shared on MacJams:
Frankenfanny
Forrest's Fire
BONUS TRACK: What I Was Thinking While You Were Talking

Retro dance music
There can never be enough Funk in the world, I figure! Thanks for listening. It has been observed by a few reviewers that having lead players with a Jazz background helps push the Funk in a slightly more contemporary direction, even when the actual chart is total 70s retro. I plan to license these tunes for a new growing market of "authentic and original" 1970s music, mainly for advertising and independent period films. I'm hoping this one fits the bill.

loving the groove!
Thanks. Funny, how I spend so much time and attention to getting the groove, but, for me, it ends up being the solos that make it work or not. I'm wondering if I should just strip things down to drums and solos on my next album… Gonna need a great drummer. I wish I knew Ginger Baker.

Pick-Up Artist
A bit like a collab of Booker T. and Tower of Power. It picked me right up, Tobin. ;)

Booker T. and Tower of Power
Yes, most of the Funk tunes on the album have direct "roots" back to the 70s. Part of the concept. But the 70s were too short, anyway, weren't they? Nice to add back on a few moments now and again. Thanks!

Thanks. We just played the CD at my brother-in-law's birthday party and it was a real hit. Everyone felt transported back to high school days, younger yet somehow more wisely hipper. Ha! Not enough funk in the world, I tell you! Thanks for listening in.

Funk
Some great stuff here Tobin. I wish I knew as many great musicians as you do. Is that you on the funky organ? That stuff towards the end is fantastic.

But the mix is a bit too in-your-face for me. Takes away from the space in the music. Imho, of course.
