Cool
Recorders have a built-in "cool factor" and you exploit it well in this little fugue. How pleasant to hear this kind of music here and to know, too, that there is a serious devotee to the delicate art of classical recorder compositions and playing. Much enjoyed.

Fugue
Pretty tune. I like the tone of the flutes and the interplay of the notes. Would love to hear this live.

How relaxing
Takes you back to a simpler time. Hell, a medieval time. :) I love the simple delicacy of the arrangement. The voice leading is excellent.

.... And then the magic begins. Stuck in traffic shutdown and streaming this thru my iPhone. That works! Will be back for a download. Just wonderful stuff Victor. We missed that at the last jam.

Yeah, sloppy editing. That should really have not been there.

Sorry to miss the last jam. Work had me bogged down and I needed every minute. Next time.

Enjoyed the post. Great to follow the independent lines, too. Lovely mellifluous tone on the lower register recorders. P.S. Is that James Dean with a recorder? :-) Thanks, Peter.

James Dean
Indeed. I forget what the story behind it was, but he could indeed play the recorder. Took lessons at some point from Burl Ives, who is quite a legend in folk/early music.

Very enjoyable and well done addition to your repertoire here Vic! Incidentally, re the photo: Er, it's from "East of Eden" and director Elia Kazan had Dean pick up the instrument for "symbolic" purposes (but I'll say no more--this is a family outfit!) Wonderful hearing you at work again, thanks.
