Description
"Open the door HAL"
"I can't do that Dave, I'm on a fast spin cycle..."

Solo-me-o Act II entry.

Yup, I did "FEEL"s (John Luper's) Laundry" :o)

I choose it as it was a solid, familiar rocky base..and the only one I had an idea for (so far).
My approach was as follows:

1) Find appropriate gaps in the bed to whistle in a few unobtrusive notes.. start from there
2) Disregard rule 1 completely and start playing as many notes as I felt like :) Here I thought an ascending
run worked well with the descending progression.
3) Multi-track my way out of trouble (taking best of the 2 lead tracks and experimenting with using offsetting to get interesting harmonies).
4) Mix it a bit (use Ozone 3)

I have no idea what scales (if any I used) I would have to look it up later...

Later look-up =>
Taking the ascending run .. which starts on E and ends on F# with unique notes of: E, F#, G#, Bb, B, C#, D# and A ..
I got the following http//www.scales/... which I am unsure how to interpret: "E ichikosucho" but I don't end on E.. the A in the run feels like it is some shift of sorts.. isn't that run basically F# Mixolydian (which is apparently within this other scale..)? I got same results with F# Major or Minor.. it's not the Spanish one as it has an F in it :o. (that don't fit to my ears).

I used POD X3 Pro Preset "Big and Wide" for the lead parts.

Nice fit
Love those guitar hooks .. and those extended runs up the keyboard. The sound of your guitars blend nicely with Feel's original groove.

Thanks Warren
Glad you enjoyed my meagre offering. No keyboards in this, just a fretboard :o) 2 tracks of same 'soloing instrument'. I figured that was allowed as a 'solo' can consist of multi-tracked harmonies and not necessarily just one track in my mind.

Funny, Wow Alan, you really made a burner out of this one.... Like it a lot. Nice chops, digging the double lead.

Too kind. If your happy, I'm happy. Pretty standard stuff I played- had some additional "ideas" but ran out of space. That splice you made was great for looping it and jamming along.. but it did throw me a bit when I took the looping off.. and the rules meant no tampering of the original submission (though I did of course swing it and the lot through some Ozone :o)).. now I'm off to see how the USA fair against the impressively strong German side this World Cup.

A Hint Of...
"Freebird" in the dueling leads? ;)

Nice work, Alan. Much enjoyed... as well as the clever 2001 Space Odyssey interpretation. LOL!

FREEBIRD! ;o)

Thanks Joe- the pic went down better (expectedly) better than the poor "Laun-dry", "Laund-wette" effort .. lol. It was a lot of fun, as a challenge should be. I have learnt (I think) I seem to favour Mixolydian scales.. well, the only other time a scale was mentioned in anything I uploaded it was Mixolydian (apparently) on "Spacehopper".

Thanks Liam

Appreciate you stopping in. Playing lead guitar I don't consider my strong point in the guitar area- I don't improvise... I admire those that can solo along on their instrument and never make a duff note here and there... and I have no ambition to be a "lead guitar player" exclusively either. I'm quite happy with my limitations.

T'is very short: I perhaps took consideration of the rule of no tampering with the Act I upload a bit too seriously in that respect...hmm... any Act II entry coming from the Wrx?

Super energy with substance infused into Feel's backing. I also appreciated your listed methodology - especially rule #2..

.. though I'm sure the tightness is assisted by some 1/4 note timing adjust 8o.

Soared off the cliff..hehe.. yeah, Joe also thought it had some lynyrd flavors in it: "Lynerd" I'll take as my somewhat nerdier version :P .. I wonder if it's Allen or Gary -esque :o.

Ah, Allen!
Gary's bits are melodic. He plays lyrically.
Allen kinda recalls Duane Allman with a triplet switch constantly engaged... lol. His repeating climbing figures take a bit of practice to pull off. I think ya nailed his vibe here!
