Description
This improvised track is presented as recorded on my Zoom H2 in our rehearsal space. Collapsible Shoulder is the name of our 4 piece band. Here we are missing our bass player Mike DuClos - so the trio is Chris Cochrane on guitar, Brian Chase on drums, and Bud on synth and electronics.

this was right after I looked at Chris
and he lowered his hand from the heavy jam we were in - we fell into this quiet place rather than end. It's a nice room we get to work in these days.

I probably need to
think a bit more divergently when I sit down to "write" Kevin. This sounds great - beautiful recording and an obvious dose of simpatico bewteen the 3 of you. Interesting and stimulating. Thanks for the recharge.

Thanks Neil - no writing here
as I said this was the chill zone between two bigger blowouts. That said - it might get incorporated into our set as a shorter interlude when our bass player gets back. We're also working on a cover of a piece by the composer Arvo Part. That's getting interesting.

comfy
Nice drum groove. Cool ambient wanderings.some short riffs from the bass player here and there to anchor the whole thing will be nice.

Frozen Landscape
I just kept thinking of the Arctic with nothing in sight but snow and ice as I listened to this. It kept building up this suspense as though it was heading toward a huge breakout. I could hear it as a film score for a tense scene.

Bagism indeed
The bell sound at the end of the piece a sample I made of the beginning of Mother from The Plastic Ono Band - slowed down 50%. I use a combo of manipulated triggered samples and analog synth with the band. A lot of the samples are from my own stuff posted here over the years. Recycle!

This is a .. sonic space
This song drifts casually through a certain sonic space – left unhurried by the absence of a bass line. Very provocative.

Collapsible Shoulder
I wish I could sit in and play the bass, lost in the floating synth, letting the tones take you away!
