Tekkin' a Waalk

Description
Well here's an original! It's been a while. The title comes from a book I read many years ago and have read many times since. It's by a guy called Peter Ford and he wrote an amazing travel diary about his 'waalk' along the Miskito Coast. It's a fantastic book and one which kindled my interest in this fascinating part of the world. I'd like to visit one day. The jungle meets the sea.

Anyway, seven minutes of ambient music, made mostly with the Alchemy soft synth with a track from the Zebra 2 and one from the Spectral. I hope you might find something to like and of course, I welcome any criticism. Thanks.

coast
Very happily drifted away when that was on.
Somehow a bit more 'floaty' than some of your others.
Excuse my ignorance but ins't it 'Mosquito' rather than Mesquito.
I googled it and couldn't find the latter.
I read the Paul Theroux book of the mosquito coast.
Anyway, downloaded for my chill out compilation
Thanks

Miskito
You're half right and I'm all wrong. It's also called 'miskito' so I've spelled it wrong. That's what Peter Ford uses in his book. I'll change what I can, thanks!

Cheers for listening. :)

There will be mozzies
if you do go there, and I don't mean ex members of The Smiths. You have created a watery, evocative soundscape that captures the magic of lovely coastlines. (We have many, but it's hard to beat Andros.) The Alchemy works nicely with the Zebra. (I'm still using the free stuff!)

Wow, this is great
Congratulations, a sweet piece of ambient music that really takes you there - which is lucky because it is a bit too far away for my travelling tastes (Honduras/Nicaragua) ;-)

Good use of the synths. I've only tried the free(?) Alchemy on my iPhone and then just to play for the moment, which is cool but not the same as saving for post production or posterity ;-)

Always nice to hear a new one from you, may there be many more. Today my vacation starts and I really hope for some music creativity this summer. Look out on MJ :-)

Thanks for the DL and take care,
Henke

Don't know much
about the Miskito coast but this works just as well for HERON ISLAND on the great barrier reef Australia. Very Nice!!

Waalk
Wonderful. Conjures up the coast under a starry night. Beautifully rendered ambient effects. My impression of the place is colored by the Theroux novel and the movie, perhaps falsely. But in any case you will have to pack your own tea.

Made me wish I was further along in my animation studies...
...yep, this is perfect for one of those flying-through-the-landscape CG videos. Course, to suit this sound track it would have to be a really good one, flying over or through a beautiful landscape at dusk or in the night. Well anyway that's what it conjures for me. Dreamy.

Immersive
This comes over me like quickly drifting off under anaesthetic to another world. A perfect sonic start to introduce the space. You then have your characteristic patient development letting the washes breathe atop the sounds of wildlife. An oasis of calm and insight. I too get a night-time feel to this, where the soft have of the galaxy slowly wheels overhead.

Brilliant Dave. Thanks for getting back to this kind of work and also for the dload!

I can hear the Alchemy
Very lush and atmospheric piece. Does not seem like 7 minutes while it is going by. I downloaded this and I think it is the beginning of me making collections from artists here at MJ.

Coastal breeze
I floated away several times listening to this travel piece.

I read Theroux book, but not Ford's.

The next thing you need to do is go there .. and then compose a follow-up piece : )

Like living...
...inside a picture with liquid details filling the scene with real, living things. This is a fascinating track that just washes over me with such clarity and distinctive expression. You have created something very special with this track. The low strings that enter around 2:40 and that follow are particularly nice. You have mixed this like a living picture. Beautiful.

Cool description in "Description" section. .
I like the picture and how it goes SO well with the music. LOVE how you make the wave sounds with the synth and it REALLY has that flowing of the in and out of the ocean. Even cricket sounds I think and more. . . WaY tO Go!!!
