If You Should Think of Me

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
A song I wrote and recorded yesterday. Third one recorded on my new Tascam. Still need to be more familiar with the controls and what you can do with a song but the sound is clear.

The picture is Arthel "Doc" Watson who was one of my major influences in playing acoustic steel string guitar. He passed away last year and this song is in his honor.

Lyrics
If You Should Think Of Me
D
Sometimes the night is full of fright
G D
Seems like it never will end

But as long as you're near, I will not fear

And hang on to the very end, yes, hang on to the very end

The world can be a loving place
With blue skies that never end
And the sun shines bright, oh what a sight
I'll love it to the very end, yes I'll love it to the very end

Bm D E A
So if you should think of me, don't let your mood be dark
D F#m E A
I only had love for you and that should be your only thought

We can all get lost and lose our way
It's so very easy to do
But there's a place inside of you
Where hope never ends, where hope never ends

If you should think of me
Expressive lyrics, emotive vocal, clean guitar sound. Sounds like you're getting on top of the new equipment, Tom!

New Equipment
Now I just need to get new vocal chords and steadier fingers and I will be all the way there. Oops, isn't going to happen. Ha, ha, ha, ha, time to head for that crossroads in Mississippi.

That Bronco sound
This song has got that classic Bronco sound, except i can notice that recording is crystal clear. It seems that your new Tascam does the trick. Especially your voice shines on this one, it was great to finally have time to listen to your tunes again.

Knock me over
Magnus, it is really you? Wow, it has been a while hasn't it. I hope you are back to post some too. I miss that wonderful voice of yours with the melodic sound that the rest of us wish we had.

Hanging on...
... to the very end. I love this kind of song. Great mood. Your lyrics and vocals set the pace. And the guitar chord changes seal the deal. Love it... Hope never ends. Sing it bro...

Thanks Jack
Tried to catch some of the essence of those old country hymns that Doc Watson used to do with a little more of a modern chord structure on the chorus. Bronco writing an optimistic song? Will wonders never end?

NIce
Nicely played and sung.

Well, and recorded, too!

I got to see Doc Watson in concert one time in an intimate settling where the audience was sitting just a few feet away from the musicians. It was a memorable experience.

Doc
Hey Warren, good to hear from you. The Tascam is allowing me to make my kind of recordings without a lot of effort so it is just what I wanted. I too got to see Doc Watson in person in a small room when I was in college. He influenced acoustic guitar, bluegrass, and new grass much more than most people know.

I like this song ...
... but the (I'll call it) "scratch track" itself, not nearly so much.   I think that this song is great and that it deserves a remix.

If You Should Think of Me
Old time "coffee house" feel, Tom. Sounds just like the type of song that would come from the Doc's weathered, "seen it all" countenance. Thanks, Peter.

I love to play guitar. I have been writing songs for many years and have a large catalog by this time. Songwriting is easy. Writing great songs is hard! Born in Louisiana and live in Texas. I grew up on Chuck, Jerry Lee, Elvis, Ricky, Little Richard ... [see more]
