Description
Some time ago I made a short track for a competition in which one had to express how garage band has changed ones life..
and this is what I came up with....
In the best of taste I only used Loops..

THis is great!
Slimmie, I love this. Such a nice melody and mix along
with funny lyrics that I think most of us here can really
relate to. Thanks for that. Ahhh, good stuff.

Ode To Garageband
To: SlimGirlFat

Cute tune. I like the ending too.

Nice synth stuff. Love the words. I have the same problem
with the dogs barking while I am recording.

Thanks for sharing.

How Good!

This is just such a cool song. Mainstream radio ready.
This deserves a better category IMO. Not the
ambient fare you normally serve up (which I like), yet
one of your best tunes. OK, I am listening on computer
speakers at work, but I think they're good enough to
communicate the song.

Sleepless in the Saddle
What a fitting tribute to GarageBand. It has been life
changing for me, too. The obsession, the empowerment,
the hope. Your dreamscape is wonderful.

Catchy, funny, true
Made me laugh, but I agree with Jack, this should be in a
better category--pop?

Very nice work.

Very, very well done, SGF. Lovely voice, melody,
production and funny, but true, sentiments.

Sleep?
What is that?

I think you nailed the GB addiction pretty well.

Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm addicted to GarageBand. I've disconnected my phone, gave away my dog, the cat is... OH SHIT I HAVE A CAT! Sorry, got to go, gotta feed the cat!

Sleep is for dweebs
Mirroring others sentiments here, this is a very enjoyable
track! It has your soft voice, funny lyrics, nicely-softened
dance background melody, and just the right amount of
comedic silliness. Very professionally put together,
m'lady! DLed and added to my SGF hoard!

Great song!
Humorous, but also a little sad. I think it's the way
you sing "I can't sleep at night". It reminds me of
times when I am up late working at the computer
and everyone else is asleep... kinda lonely... Anyway,
this is another memorable tune from a memorable
singer! You were one of the first artsists here to
catch my attention last year when I started here...
Keep on going, SlimGirl... some sleep would be nice,
though.

Great lyrics....I was listening, thinking..oh what a lovely
tune...then the lyrics came and slayed me! It is a lovely
tune as always Slimmy but I think you need to take a walk
now.....Gee Bee's in the brain.

greatest pop tune the world will never hear
This is the most instantly likeable tune I've heard at
MacJams. My 12-year-old daughter (GB user) and her
friends are already running around singing your song.
They love how you pronounce 'garage'

GarageBand Poster-Girl!
This is a wonderfully whimsical song, Slimmie! What a
great testimony to those ol' GB loops....but your vocals
really MAKE this tune.

Enjoyed it from start to finish!

hahaha
Good One!! Greatly crafted lyrics, and the background
while repetitive and "loopy" is well enough suited for the
track.

My only criticism is that the word "sleep" sounds on my
end like "seep". Perhaps this is just a cultural difference
though, and the way that you pronounce the word is
different from the way that I would say it, hence the way I
percieve it.

All in all this finatic that you talk about certainly won't lose
in the end. Not after so much hard work. Actually, a lot
of real life artists have suffered from such insomnia that
you talk about. Take for example Michelangelo. He is
said to have slept on average about four hour per night!!!
Can you imagine if he had gotten a hold of Garage Band.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Suddenly...
...I'm worried.

Didn't I used to have a family, and a job?

A life?

Well, no, I didn't have a LIFE, exactly. But, a family? A job?

I'm actually glad I didn't discover this one until I could
more completely get the joke...

You've got a great sense of humor. Cool groove, just a little too
compressed for me. This song will probably describe me this year.
However, tonight I have to finish up a Flash project. I'll be checing
out more of your work.

Great lyrics.
I like that you play it straight with the somewhat melancholy vocals instead of hamming it up for humor.
My Mac is in my wifes home office for her business so, finding moments to record can be challenging at times.
I like your voice too. dl
