Lyrics
close your eyes, now let you lie in the heather
pay no mind the wind and rain
for when you rise you’ll find the sun shines down again

with a half a glance between the wine and the weather
there’s but five leaves left to see
and when the last one falls then that’s the last of me

through the maze of narrow moss green places
I’m a tourist in this town
I’m watching for the last leaf falling down

one last dance between the faun and the feather
one last dance before the dawn
and one last chance to see the last leaf holding on

through the maze of narrow moss green places
I’m a tourist in this town
I’m watching for the last leaf falling down, down, down

rows of broken spaces
those with token faces falling
greet the unseen stranger
meet the silent danger calling

one last dance between the faun and the feather
one last dance before the dawn
one last chance to see the last leaf left is gone

through the maze of narrow moss green places
I’m a tourist in this town
I’m watching for the last leaf falling down, down, down

through the maze of narrow moss green places
I’m a tourist on the town
I’m watching for the last leaf falling down

Nice work
When I thought the song was over .. well, it wasn't .. and you just kicked it into a higher gear .. as if the last leaf that was hanging on kept inspiring you to reach for new heights .. just as it does in the O. Henry story.

Poised, polished performance, Brian. My kind of music. Great vocal work and a fine arrangement, well put together. I might have to visit CD Baby, as well! Thanks, Peter.

Solid production
Commercial production with strong writing... everything on the classic menu is presented. The section starting with the descending bass line into the middle eight should have been more acid lyrically? Can't use that stuff without making fun of it, tipping' yer hat?
The keyboards and guitar are fab. Thanks for sharing yer work here with us!

Last leaf
Smooth arrangement with plenty of variety, rich sound, emotive vocal, all showing thought and skill. Impressive guitar towards the end. Excellent work, Brian.
