Description
Macjams's YRP (http://macjams.com/artist/yrp) and I have a thing going on. I know he also works with other people here, so if you played on this one please PM me and I'll credit you.

The lyrics for this were directly inspired by one of the more interesting --from my point of view, anyway-- forum threads in quite a while:

http://macjams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=6;showtopic=274512

so I thought it only proper to post it!

There used to be a lot of music on this one, but he stripped almost all of it out and made the vocal tracks the main focus.

If you're interested, YRP's Bandcamp page is here: http://lingeringlastdrops.bandcamp.com/

Thanks for listening!

Lyrics
We're stranded
In the void.
Waiting for something
Humanoid

We're standing
Eyes to the sky.
It gets so lonely.

A lua, cor de mel, esta cheia, baixa, enorme.
(The moon, honey-colored, is full, low, huge.)

Pre-Drome (YRP)
I think what I love about this is the whiplash you get as you travel through reverb space. The drums have such a wonderful live room sound, the vocals are dry as can be, the pads are floating in the infinite void of space. Everything is given it's own space to shine and make its own statement in the pacing of the piece. The vocals are ace as is always the case with Mr. Paradigm. Totally cool song. Missing the DL button though…:-(

All credit
to YRP. I provided some basic tracks, and he followed his muse. It started life as a rollicking 6 minute song with big instrumental sound, and ended up like this.
He hasn't released the album (which I think is excellent by the way) yet, so I nixed the DL....

Argh! Love this so much!
That the instruments at times seem to be independent and unaware of one another, the potent timbre created by the vocal harmonization, the cool drum riffs, the esoteric ambient tones...it all comes together in a really pleasing meditation that piques curiosity and pleases the ear.

I thought resurrecting that thread might cause you some tsuris, but I guess you're OK with it. Sounds like you hear it the way I do.

Cheers,

Pre-Drome
Love the minimalism that highlights the vocals. Spacious and clean, this is a cool direction to take with the piece. Nice.

Thanks!
This is really YRP's song: I sent him some vocal tracks to go with a song he sent me. At the time it was a full-on guitar/bass/drums/synth soundscape, so I was really surprised to hear what eventually happened to it. Glad you stopped in!

Very Mysterious
Sounds like something that should be a backtrack for a 70's sci-fi movie. Pretty neat composition, totes diggs it.

I think
YRP makes amazing soundscapes! A lot of times it's not always clear how to put vocals on them, but this one was pretty straightforward. Thanks for stopping by to listen!

Stranded
The vocal treatment goes very well with the slightly freaky electronic sounds. The acoustic drums were a bit of a surprise, but in the end it did all feel cohesive.
