Blue Sky Bossa
The tones of the three different guitars work very well together. Lovely fluid tone and effortless playing on the HR. The Gibson nylon is a nice touch. I like the mix, too. Well balanced with clarity. That Kyle dude is getting about bit :-) Nice one. Talk soon, Peter.

The more the merrier, I say! Thanks for the comments, and for commenting on an earlier version - I'm trying to take it all in. Kyle is a star, and never gets drunk, either! One day I'll learn how to control him properly to get the best out of him.

Brill Bossa
I'm a sucker for all things Bossa with those easy warm rhythms that change one's mood in an instant. A fine tune Philip, well conceived and played with effective use of your guitar arsenal - you're like the Les Paul of the new millennium! Thanks for the dload, and give my regards to Kyle.

Sucker for all things bossa
It's hard not to like them, Doug. They can be restful of lively, but always great to play. Les Paul? I think he was a true creator - I just buy what other people have worked on! Thanks for listening and for the comments - much appreciated! And Kyle says "Hi".

all of the elements fit together seamlessly. Easy on the ears, every note feels inherently 'right' in relation to the one that it follows. Awesome.

Can't go wrong with a good bossa, and this is one, though maybe a little short--when it sounds this good, you want more! Great instrumental play and mix, and a very nice chord progression

Blue Sky Bossa
Philip, that tone on the Gibson Howard is so warm and tasty. A lovely piece with an interesting arrangement. This would work well next to"Leaves of Autumn". The touches of synth and organ creates a warm blanket for your wonderful guitar playing. Very clear mix. Would be great with real drums.
But at least you don't have to supply beer for Kyle.
Cheers

Hi Stan
I appreciate the comments, Stan. I have to admit I love the tone of the Gibson - we've been friends for a long time! No, Kyle doesn't drink much and he's very capable, but needs a fair bit of tweaking to get with some of the rhythms. Ah well, you can't have everything.

Nice separation
I like the way each guitar has a place in the mix, and that each is clearly discernible. The lead melody works very nicely and the chord changes are all just right in the style.
Nice and relaxing.

Blue sky
I nearly missed this one! Saw you online and though "I wonder what Phillip's been up to recently" and then... this! Melbourne's finest is in great form here. the nylon string adds something gentle yet definite and I loved the hammond organ. Howard's lead is nice and to echo Ben's comments ( I thought I was being original till I read down while listening!) everything sounds like it's meant to be there and each following is a natural progression from the last. It just makes sense! Superb stuff.

The very mellow touch...
...is what strikes me as the strongest element of this delightfully positive track. There is something particularly fluid about the solo playing, as if there is absolutely no difficulty pulling off such melodic material so flawlessly. The steady bossa background is also perfectly balanced in the mix. Such a short little thing, though. I could easily have enjoyed a piece twice this length. Very nice number.

LOVE the tone you get
from your guitars... Most especially the nylon strings. This is a voice I need to explore more thoroughly in my own music. Dammit, I guess I need to buy another guitar. :) Very enjoyable piece, warm movement throughout. I could have used a little more drum in the mix to press the groove a little harder... And, well, given that the title says Bossa, and the chordal rhythm suggests the same, perhaps the straight-4 rock drum groove is a question? :)

Glad you liked the tune, Phil! Happy guitar shopping for a nylon string. I bought that Gibson nylon a long time ago, nearly sold it at one stage, but I'm glad I didn't. The drums always a bit of an issue for me - I just go with whatever Logic supplies. One day I'll spend a bit more time on them - or maybe just get a real drummer to play!
