Description
Another example of a song writing itself. I was just searching for chords on the piano that had a nice flow to them, then, I just started singing along. The words were almost spontaneous. Amazing what lies in the subconscious.

Lyrics
When I think about the times we had
It was always good never bad
Do you ever think about me
Are the memories all the same
Or was I just a player in your game

When I think about the things I shared
I had the feeling that you really cared
Do you ever think about me
Are the memories all the same
Or was I just a player in your game

Did you ever hear a word I said
While we lay there in your bed
You counted every dime
I counted down the time
And I knew I shouldn't love you

When I think about the plans I made
Why you wouldn't let me take you away
I can't keep thinking of you
I Gotta let the memories start to fade
I know I was just a player in your game

Did you ever hear a word I said
While we lay there in your bed
You counted every dime
I counted down the time
And I knew I shouldn't love you

When I think about those hazy days
And how you only love if it pays
And I can't keep thinking of you
I Gotta let the memories start to fade
I know I was just a player in your game

Under consciousness workout
Not subconscious spontaneous outflow Sir... this is a conscious effort. Not to diminish the work at all it's genre specific and well done. The production is great... The FM ballad has been around for over 40 years.
It's the listening you have done bouncing off the back of your soul...
Thanks for sharing your impressive work with us here. I will be back for more.

Nice to hear someone who can actually sing well here. And write well and play well.......

Sounds like classic rock.
It really has the sound of something that's been at the top of the charts for six weeks ten years ago, and is so well known everyone in the English speaking world can sing along. Odd maybe, but that's how it sounded to me even the first time I heard it. So polished and perfect it's release ready.

Quality song that has that classic polish and feel. Your vocals sound great working off the piano. All the ingredients are here in spades. Deserves wider recognition. Thanks, Peter.

I like the mellow start with the piano. It builds up with some nice sounding chords and melody. This is one of the better songs I've heard on the radio, here, or elsewhere lately. Keep it up.

The 70's live on in your subconscious. I was trying to second - guess the progressions, and there were a few unexpected turns which made it all the more enjoyable. Top - notch.

Beautiful song...
Your vocal delivery is wonderful, and the band is the perfect backing for such a clearly-delivered song. Production wise, I don't believe I've heard anything here or just about anywhere that is as nicely recorded and mixed. Every element is mixed with great care. I love the way you drop the band around 2:45 and let your voice just shine through. This is a really stellar number in every way. What a great listen!

Started out playing drums at about 8. Joined the school music programs. After school I played in a bar band for a couple of years. If you know who Bud Marr is he was our bass player...lot's of interesting stories. Then life happened and I got a caree... [see more]
