Description
Apologies for the earlier broken upload; I seem to run into GarageBand bugs more often than most people for some reason...

As I wrote when I uploaded the earlier version this tune was created for a purpose; it was made to accompany an animator's demo reel. It is exactly two minutes ten seconds from first sound to last note, and then has some space for the echoes to die down. I'm happy that this version is suitable for the demo reel it was written for, so although it's the short version of the tune it's done. The timing was part of the brief, though I intend to make a longer version as well. The longer version will have a change of key following on from the tune as it is so far. It's in A minor and the longer version will include at least one passage in C minor and a rather different ending.

The repeating motifs used by the string section of the orchestra remind me of rock guitar riffs, probably an influence from all the rock music I've listened to over the years.

I always admire your compositions - the skill needed to create something like this is beyond my comprehension. Dynamic changes and impactful countermelodies really create the imagery that you were going for. Nicely done!

Thank you.
It was a lot of fun to write though it was also a lot of work done in a relatively short time. I'm glad it works for you.

Running For The Border
Very aptly named piece. Had me thinking of Buchan's "The 39 Steps". Nicely put together. Thanks, Peter.

Thanks.
I am not familiar with "The 39 Steps" but now I'll have to look it up. Thanks for the prompt, and I'm glad you liked this.

Thanks.
I'm getting better but the classical greats? Heh heh, I wish... I'm glad though, that people are enjoying this one as that perhaps reflects the fun I had creating it.

Running For The Border
Dramatic. Really digging the percussion. The timpani drums are an excellent touch.

Thank you.
I love the distinctive sound of the tympani as well as the fact that an orchestral percussionist can play tunes on them not just rhythms. I'm glad I'm posting this stuff on a site where people notice the details so thanks again!

whoa guy,
I feel so embarrassed after hearing this. ha! You guys who can do this so well always have my admiration. This piece has an "exciting" feel to it. Very mood lifting.

Not doing badly yourself.
That "Palace Called Home" track of yours did just fine with the strings. Because I compose everything on the piano-roll editor I am used to the process, so I can do more complicated things with it (not that this one is immensely complicated). Anyway I'm glad you liked this one, I hope you also enjoy the longer version once it's done. Thanks for the visit.

I would really like to see the animator's demo with this music flowing in the background. Dramatic and edgy but catchy melody too. Nice orchestration! Thanks.

Thank you, a link will eventually be posted.
Yeah, I am interested myself to see what the demo reel looks like once the music is on. It ought to have an entirely different feel to it. Thanks for the visit and comment.
