Description
When fiction becomes reality everywhere it falls hardest on the children. One and all must open their eyes and see... or the children will all disappear into Slender Man's embrace.

What's it all about, Daug?
I'm getting a little freaked out here. Cool and creepy all at the same time. Love the bass that just cooks along with all that fluttering above it. Very inventive amalgum of sounds layered pretty precisely. I have no idea what it means (if anything), but it sure was a fun listen. 3:15 is painfully wonderful, squeezing the life out of something or other. Cool track.

Mr. Page's Information Request
Google Sir. It is your humble servant's contention that Slender Man is the natural result of a culture disconnected from reality. The children are attacked. You see, I want you to consider the phemon in the
light of cultural disintegration.

i liked
what I heard until reaching ~1:35 where I loved it. such proggy goodness from that point. I really could have used at least 30 secs more.

Hello Sam
Sorry Slender Man works at his own pace and quickly returns to nothingness. Three young men gone in his embrace. Who will be next?

Slender Man
Very dark and full of malice, which is as it should be I think. Lots going on to keep the listener engaged too, which I like. I have no idea how you've done it but I can only applaud (if that's the done thing...)

Slender Man
Well that's different. Fine guitar playing in there and ominous mood. Your mind must be bursting when you put these together!

Hello Philip
That idea that bursting is happening is way wrong... lol. It's more like air escaping a balloon. I know what I want when I start and go as fast as possible to get the thing finished while I can still hear the thing.
Many times I have posted ideas that are incomplete. There was more of this... I was just too slow to get it sketched out... and then silence. Thanks for listening.

Thought provoking, as always, Daug. What ever happened to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory? :-) Your ability to meld sound bites and quality music together is uncanny. Thanks, Peter.

Hello Peter
Not a chocolate factory, I heard the story about Lily and then I heard the piece shortly afterward. It is the same advocacy I normally push out. Save the children from national socialism. Could there be a more important thing to write about?

The Digital Manson?
This one eventually has all the classic motifs of your stuff (great instrumentation, melodic angles, mix, etc). But on second listen, I find the scary whimsy to be quite a candy lure to the eventual chainsaw...

Thanks for the download :)

Papag Knows...
Yes it is true. I live in a trailer at the edge of town. I got everything I need to keep the local population down. No hiding the chainsaw there at the end. Your welcome on the DL. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Slenderman
Slenderman. As always, my simple mind searches for the deeper meaning, but it eludes me. Love the heavy off-kilter jazzprog. THAT I seem to get. Great ending, too. Portentous.

LEss Sign
Lily Marie Hartwell allegedly soaked a towel and bed sheet with bleach and rum before setting them alight in the family's Port Richey property... One of many examples of Slender Man's reach. A fourteen year old girl wanted to join the occult elite.
Suggesting a superior mind is required to understand the threat to children that contemporary national socialism posses belies the evidence. A challenge made Sir. Thanks for stopping by...

It gets even worse
if the two school kids on the subway this morning are any indication. In the video game they were playing, it's apparently a winning strategy to kill yourself because you just "re-spawn" somewhere else.

Fine track, by the way. I am especially taken with that wide bass-y rumble at the edges…..

Love,

Hello Mom
Nice to see you back in the house supporting the avant guard. If you listen closely the bass is down the center. Like a spine, and all alone there. The edges are dominated by percussion. A space for everything and in every space something to hear. The expression of the wall of sound from Phil Spector's cell, or Brian Wilson's smile lol. See ya next time.

Slender
Really creepy and really gut shaking. Experimentally mental. Sooo good compared to much of the meaningless old man tripe around these parts these days. This should inspire new blood to come and to be shed. Keep squeezing.

Meaningless old man tripe? Our good friends might be offended. Oh well.
The part that gets me puzzled is they shine the same turd over and over. Like it's a big deal.
Seems they would run out of polish? Squeezing ongoing my friend.

You always push things to the edge ... disturbing yet gratifying ... man those drums are killer ... when you break in to the heavy prog stuff I was taken .... blown away. The bottom end on this track is to die for. That guitar is insane at the end....

Hello Stan
Thanks for the encouragement. Was meant to be disturbing indeed frightening. The original story of the girlie Lily noted above it what started the project. I saw the posted picture. That is her drawing of Slender Man. She said he made a deal with her, all she had to do was burn down her home and kill her mom and little brother.

Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers
ACT I in the first minute or so could have used some augmentative support from Peter Bergman and troops over at FST, but that could take a whole album and I still probably wouldn't get it right? Hehe... but when fiction becomes reality everywhere then there must be a new word for it because we're left with neither one?

Oh well, I'm never too good at writing something clever for ya, but I tried.

ACT II kicks in really well, I've always admired your skill to jam like that and hold it together, Ed.

Left us with a pleasant couple of minutes to contemplate.
