Description
One of my movie dialog sample experiments. This time the dialog is from John Carpenter's 1982 horror/sci-fi film The Thing. Going through a phase of trying to control my plug-in abuse. I just can use too many and it muddies things up more than helps. A couple guitar tracks I worked pretty hard on were dropped as they simply not not fit in the end.

loved
that movie. I can think of a couple of scenes where this would have fit the soundtrk quite nicely. glad you didn't remove the guitar that remained as it added to the atmosphere.
Smart move on the fewer plugs since, even though some will indeed add their flavor, they also take something away for each one you add. Learned this myself recently and forced myself to keep my trks as basic as possible, then use my "master" chain for "abuse".
The result: a much more purer sound...as I'm hearing here.

right
I use Ableton Live and I have come to realize I can save things as a basic template (rock template, podcast, soundscape, etc) with certain VST plugins ready to go (like a chain). As it is I just get like a kid in a candy shop with a $100 and don't know where to start or end, but I think that is part of the normal learning process. I always appreciate your feedback. Feel like you're actually giving things a listen and leaving a comment not because you want one back but because you liked what you heard for the most part. Thanks Sammy.

One of those things
Great idea. The music has the right intensity to carry the scenes. Excellent mix. One of my favorite movies in the horror genre. Plug-in abuse hahaha.

I like that!

Thanks so much. I like some underground bands like My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Ministry, and they did the movie dialog sample things so well. It is time consuming to get the samples out but fun -of course- at the same time.

Just a guy running out of time. I like all sort so stuff as long as it is far removed from Mariah Carrey and Whitney Huston type music, or Korean boy bands. I upload a lot of synthy ambient stuff and I only know how to make major and minor chords... [see more]

Genre Info
Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
