Description
Reworking of a piece I used in a recent art installation at ARTELPHX with Sylvia Frost

"This will be a collaborative installation of original video and audio compositions.

The front room will be an immersive sound environment enhanced with glowing ambient lighting. Sets of small speakers will be placed around the room each playing different combinations of recorded loops of water sounds and ambient drones. The loops are designed to play randomly, colliding with each other in unexpected ways, transforming the room into an ambient listening chamber.

In the back room (bedroom?) there will be a video presentation of abstract water videos which will continually loop on three screens. The videos will be complemented by additional ambient music soundscapes that are played through a simple stereo system.

There will be mini speakers set up around the room (and possibly bathroom) in the same way as described above for the front room to make the experience completely immersive.

The video images and audio recordings of water have been slowed and manipulated in various ways to bring a focus to their fluid waves and ripples. As a whole, we hope to create an inviting, slow, relaxing environment which will allow participants the opportunity to be reflective and ‘present in the moment’."

soothing. Cool project!
Perfectly calibrated drone. It's hard to imagine how much it takes to create something like that until you try!

The art installation sounds like something I would really enjoy. I'd love to have a permanent installation like this as a coffee shop for example - imagine people reading, or just sitting in silence instead of typing emails or making small talk:)

Wow, really cool
I like this project, wish I could be there (or you guys coming to Stockholm ;-)

I like Pari's idea as well. Would be really cool in for example Vetekatten in Stockholm, a coffee shop with many small rooms with rather old fashioned furniture in various styles :-)

Thanks and take care,
Henke

I wish I had been immersed in the actual installation
It sounds great in this form - I can only imagine what it must have been like to be there. Great that you are expanding your artistic enterprises like this.

an intriguing sound experiment, indeed. it is interesting how my mind was wanting more of a "story" to be told in the form of a melody, but this desire would seem to undermine being "present in the moment". most definitely a meditative piece and an enjoyable listen. good luck with your project.

Lovely drone. It should be great to have that as a background and have it become part of the environment.
