Nice sound bed
I totally dig the groove, the sound of your bass, the dramatic sense. I'd love to hear a lead instrument (or vocal) over the top to give it more motion and spontaneity. Consider adding to this interesting and worthy sound bed. Cheers!

Spontaneity
Yes, I get what you're saying, but this ritual follows a strict set of guidelines. Improvisation here could anger the gods. And I wouldn't want to do that. Well, I would … but not right now. They owe me a favor.

you've created a very cool atmosphere here. more subdued than most of your offerings, which is perfectly fine by me. puts me in a nice headspace. your compositional skills, particularly with the bass, blow me away. love the off kilter groove. a dense piece which is almost two songs in one. i like how it comes back to the original motif in the last minute. beautiful. thanks for posting!

Atmosphere
Hi, Steve. Ah, yes, that's what I was going for. Actually, I was trying to hypnotize you, but likely came up short. Composition here is pretty straightforward. I wanted to play the same lead line over three different backgrounds --- just a little challenge I set for myself, and it ended up as a 9-minute indulgence. Had to change the timing on the 6/8 section. Thanks for the nice words. Waiting for for more carboniferous extravaganzas.

Always glad to share when I get something I like … not happening much lately. Thanks for coming by for a listen. DL? Yep, that's me.

Hey, long time. I have some catching up to do. I've been musically inactive for awhile. Time to get back to work. I guess that's my 2015 resolution. Good to see that you're still round. Thanks much.

Been awhile my friend. I haven't been around much these days, but i am glad I dropped in on this prog gem. Big sound as always, great structure, well thought out parts and of course bad ass guitar. Always good man!

Hi, Chris
Yeah, me too --- not been around much. Not a lack of interest, just hardware problems that I'm still working on. This is an old Reggie tune that I decided to repost. Anyway, thanks for coming by for a listen. I always value your opinion.

Hey, Vic
A fine compliment indeed. Honored. Airy. I like that. Just an accident, I'm sure. Your comment is much appreciated.

Hi, Karen
Departure? You think so? Well, either way, I'm pretty pleased with the result. And I'm happy that you like it, too. I'm always jazzed when I can get away with posting anything over 4 minutes. And those gods. If there's one thing about them that always pisses me off …. well, oops … never mind that.

Hi, Tim
Good to see that you've resisted the mass exodus here at MJ. What's going on? People frustrated because they're not getting rich? Yeah, it has been awhile. I'm re-working some old Reggie tunes, and I might end up posting those before moving on to new stuff. But I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the nice words.

Epic
Great composition... was going to say in the style of Camel, but this is better in a Kloo kind of way.

Hi, Andy
I will take the comparison to Camel any day of the week. Thank you, sir. It's a bit of self-indulgence, but I kinda like it.

Insistent and epic in its scope, Les. Has all your trademark sounds sewn together is a compelling package. Great mix. That bass sits there rock solid and precise the whole way, even in the most intense passages. Cool guitars, as always. Fine work. Thanks, Peter.

Hi, Peter
Yeah, I suppose the bass is the one instrument that isn't off-kilter throughout the first half, then the repetition in the second half is supposed to be the second part of the ritual, with the bass insistent --- yeah. I really appreciate these comments. Thank you kindly, and I hope your new year is off to a good start.

Big
You have created a large musical space with this epic production .. and fill it with big sounds. Is there room for more? Probably. But it has plenty enough going for it as it is.

I left this one open on purpose. I do that every once in awhile. Maybe an experiment in simplicity and repetition. Anyway, I appreciate your comments.

Wow - great production and development
love the different ways you explore the possibilities without abandoning the ritual - gods forbid. Excellent drum sections and always unique timing in the bass. Very cool track.
