Description
A lyrical exercise that took on a life of its own. It probably should have been spoken not sung .. but then the music appeared .. and so I sang it.

Lyrics
INSTIGATOR

you're such a spontaneous instigator
you're such a devious innovator
you're such a malicious masticator
you're such a specious litigator
you're such an erroneous calculator
you're such a invidious investigator
you're such an outrageous operator
you're such a surreptitious stimulator

if u c me in the city
please don't act surprised
and if u c me out of the country
please don't give away my disguise
if u c me on the subway
please don't treat like one you despise
and if you see me on the streets
I hope we're fighting on the same side
if u c me when it's cloudy
I hope I don’t come across too proudly
if u c me when it's sunny
I hope I don’t come across too funny
if u c me in the middle of the morning
I hope I don’t come across too corny
if u c me in the middle of night
I hope I don’t give you too much of a fright

you're such an audacious navigator
you're such a pretentious legislator
you're such a gregarious fornicator
you're such a contentious pollinator
you're such a prodigious penetrator
you're such a fallacious flagellator
you're such a ridiculous regulator
you're such an obnoxious perpetrator

Smiling
The whole project kept getting more absurd as it went along .. so I'm glad you saw the humor in it.

You have such an original
style of madness - infectious, entertaining, bewildering and downright fun. So many elements of so many icons - from Eno to Daevid Allen, Kevin Ayers, The Residents, Devo etc. But 100% Warren Smith. I love the laughing guitar at the end.

Adjective
"Infectious" .. how did I miss using that adjective? Say, as in "infectious inoculator" .. you know, as a sly reference to the current outbreak of measles in the USA.

Help. Somebody stop me.

Laugh Fest!
Thank you. Invidious investigator, no one but you Warren.
The guitar parts on here are perfect... pyscho serf without the DIck Dale pretension. The level of concentration, the focus on your recordings, is a lesson everyone should learn... tight but breathing freely, loose but in the pocket!

Not tedious
It's a relief to hear you didn't find this little exposition a tedious investigation! Thanks for visiting my dog house.

I live with this chick. Creative, different stuff here...well written lyrics, tricky enunciation required. Love the instrumental break, couldn't stop my head from bobbing. Thumbs up W!

Ennuciation
I found I could speak the lines .. but singing them was nearly impossible. So, of course, I had to go for the impossible .. the elusive elocution : )

This was delicious...
...Warren you are definitely one of those select artists here that has their own, easily identifiable niche--you demonstrate that once again here. Really enjoyed this (an extra nod on the bridge) and when I say this, please know I am no prevaricator! (you missed that one--hahahahaha!) Thanks again Warren and take good care now, Michael

Devious prevaricator
My own niche? I hope that doesn't mean I don't play well with others. Maybe I had better start doing more collaborations : )

End of the world
That's funny .. because I was thinking about writing a song about the end of the world .. and that I'm fine with it. Except REM has already done that : )

No idiot indicators here
I love that most of your keywords get 0 hits ;)

A rather surreal madness.

Dubious Duplicator
I, too, found that kind of funny that most of those words had not been duplicated before as keywords.

Maybe that just adds to the surreal?

An amusing ditty
Can I use the first stanza in my class, so the kids can paraphrase it, and hopefully pick up some new vocabulary?
