Description
An instrumental named after a 70's hit record and a character in The Tick. The Rocking Sock Puppet has been off the air for a while, but we have been very busy. Much more to come.

I'm loving the bass part in this. Looking forward to what comes next.

I've been upgrading my instruments of late, and the bass is a Yamaha fretless. Almost anything I play on it sounds cool, and I'm glad you appreciate it. I think David's percussion is outstanding on this one. We eschewed cymbals, and the music is all the better for it.

I like the smooth flow of this and the gentle melody. Maybe bring the lead line up a bit in the mix? I especially like the duet solos. Much enjoyed!

Yup.
I need a nylon guitar for that bit. My old one disappeared. I'll get another eventually. Thanks for your kind remarks, Philip.

Talking of Mexico
Nice acoustic lines there Graham. Manuel would be proud of them.

The drum groove works well, it kind of rolls along.

Cheers

Si
It was originally "Batmanuel of the Mountains" after the 70's hit. Ta for listening, Dick.

The Tick
What a happily obscure reference. I used to love that show. Obviously, too good to survive for long in the TV wasteland. Instrumental goodness. That bass sounds incredible. Fine production. Welcome back. Sharp wristwatch!

It's coming back
with Patrick Warburton, according to my spies. Good to see you, Les. Thanks for listening. Much more in the pipeline - I've been replacing instruments, and David's been swapping drum kits, but we're back in business. Yamaha has done very well out of the two of us.

So many Sock Puppets
We had to add "The Rocking" to differentiate ourselves. I agree David excelled himself on the percussion here. Modesty forbids me commenting on the guitar work, but thanks for your remarks.

I really like my newish Yamaha fretless - great for glissando and for thumping, and needs little or no tweaking - it just sounds great. So good, in fact, that I got a Yamaha Strat copy, and it too sounds brilliant. I'm usually shilling for Ovation (with good reason) but right now I'm hot for Yamaha products.

The title made me think of producing a film called Bat Man Meets Emmanuel IV :-) But enough frivolity :-) Fine project. Warm and engaging. Bass, percussion, guitar, all top notch. Nice balance in the mix. Thanks, Peter.

Warm and Wonderful
That's a great drum kit that includes rain and thunder!

One of the things I've noticed over the years is that new instruments often prompt bursts of creativity.

The guitar has an Andalusian lilt to it .. softened by those warm Caribbean breezes. It must be a Bahamian ting.

Deliberately Spanish
Unfortunately I don't have a nylon - strung guitar at the moment, so I had to use the Ovation. It's still listenable, though. Thank you for doing so, Mr Smith.

I quite enjoyed this ... some fine guitar playing going on here ... the toms roll along underneath along with that tasty bass setting a foundation of feel ... excellent!

David likes his toms.
I'm very taken with the percussion all the way through this. Cheers for the kind remarks, Hounds.
