Description
A song about Jack Kirby's greatest creation, the Silver Surfer. The drums are from a piece David McNair prepared for another project. I hijacked them for this number.

Lyrics
We long to see the sun
Is it still shining?

You come here from the depths of space
To take life from the human race
What kind of hunger drives you on?
What hope for those who'll soon be gone?

You say there's no recourse
To worlds you ravage
Do you feel no remorse?
Are you so savage?

We look up to the sky
For silver lining
We long to see the sun
Is it still shining?
There are but four of them
We fall into despair
Then in the sky above
Someone in the air

Herald, save us all

Well ... this is strangely progressive ... almost a hint of Gentle Giant. Some very interesting guitar playing ... odd dischordal progressions and cool fuzzy bass sound. Awesome drum track ... enjoyed the double kick.
Cool track Graham!

Giant
and Krim are two of my biggest influences. David's drums are usually awesome - I think he programmed these somehow. He just obtained a double kick pedal, so I expect he could do this live if he wanted. Thanks for listening, Hounds.

nice work
like the slightly psychedelic vocals
guitars sound nicely direct love the riffs
little bit robert Fripperisch
and the oriental drums in the break are nice ear candy
thanks for the down load

You're welcome
Fripp is about right, but we also do Belew, Giltrap and Green whenever we can. The vocals are deliberately squeaky, to contrast with the awesomeness of Galactus. Ta for the listen and the kind remarks.

I don't understand...
...but I have to say that this is a track that's impossible to put down. It is so inventive and mixes such a variety of funky sounds along the way that just make the whole thing so compelling. The lyrics give one something to think about, too, in terms of an alien invasion...ha! This is unlike anything I have ever heard before and (I think) that's a good thing. Certain a piece quite unto itself in style and genre. Cool.

Ghast flabbered
but also very pleased. I always try to do something other than the usual fare, and often end up with Marvel comics and TV shows that I've enjoyed. In this case I found David's drum track so epic that only Galactus' arrival could suffice as subject matter. Many thanks for listening, Paul, and as ever
I appreciate the critique.

Silver Surfer
one of my favorites, that thud of the bass drum really effective like the way the guitar and indian drum go together in this, like how it builds up to the end a great ride on the silver surf board the frippish guitar at the end was great

Cheers
I think this was one of the first songs to feature Gladys, the seven - string with the big bottom. I tend to use it for the clockwork tapping you hear at the end. I'm happy you enjoyed it.

Well, I'm impressed that you could make an entire tune from a drum track intended for another. Good fun. And you made something wonderful. This GE/KC hybrid is just up my street. The part around 1:00 breathes sinister. Very juicy. Fine work, gents.

It's a good way to work
...starting from a drum track, adding bass, then guitar, then refining. It makes a change from working from an acoustic guitar piece, which is something else I often do. Ta for listening, Les.

Terrific!
First of all, you gotta love any song about the Silver Surfer, but no matter what it's about, it's a very cool song. Definitely has a trippiness that would be very appropriate for surfing the cosmos.

BTW, got me thinking about some of my favorite Silver Surfer moments and the two that stood out were the two issues by Mobius and, oddly enough, his first meeting with the Impossible Man, which is kind of weird.

Anyway, very cool tune for a very cool character.

Toomie, my board.
I'm enjoying the current run of SS by Michael Allred and Dan Slott. It's very Dr Who, but a lot of fun.

I think the drums are kind of epic, and the Surfer/Galactus topic suits them well. Thanks for listening.
