Description
A rocker off the workbench. A song I recorded a few years ago, but decided to release here after juicing it up in Logic Pro X with some new drums and a remix and master.

Lyrics
Everything's Fine
©2015 Racerat

Born into a world where the rules just never applied
Silver spoon baby never worked a day in his life
Never want for nothing, never felt the heat of the knife
Trying to rise from the night to the day
The man who has nothing, he never has nothing to say

Wringing the blood from the earth like it’s something you’re owed
Skull & the Bones on your chest and you live by the code
Stuffing your pockets with the spoils of diamonds and gold
Hollow and holy you swallow the line
The man who has nothing keeps thinking that everything fine
But it’s not.

heavy!
this is really powerful Philip!
i dig the hard rock pace and tones. does kinda have a post punk edge to it as well. the little guitar riffs on the far panned sides is cool, ones of those type of things that i always like... a little ear candy you might say. the end vocal efx is a cool touch as well

Heavy!
Thanks Vic I think the echo build and fade out is my fav part. Wanted to keep it short and sweet. 2:22, no lead, no solos. Just a kick in the face and OUT!

Blood from the earth
Short .. and scorching!

Wait .. didn't we elect this guy president .. twice?

I know there's theory that it's a good thing to let listeners imagine more .. and here I do that. You throw in that little tease of lead during the second verse .. and I was waiting for that to morph into a solo. So if the intent was to leave a listener wanting more - you succeeded : )

I love those little squeaky upturns at the ends of lines. Ear candy, indeed!

Blood from the Earth
Warren, I can't believe you "got" the reference of who this song was about. ! I was thinking about describing it in the comments, but where's the fun in that? I'm impressed! You nailed it. Yes, we did elect him twice. Years I would rather forget although we will be living with the fall-out for the rest of our days.

LPX rox
Reminds me of the Australian band "The Angels" with Doc Neeson singing (a good thing). This moves so well. Isn't it interesting when dragging something from the archives how much new life LPX can add to it. This leaps from the speakers.
Nice post - we have this guy as Prime Minister at the moment ....... but I don't think he'll get elected twice!
Cheers,
Neil

guitar tone is
everything. love the bassy edge on yours. thought the vocals could have been higher in the mix, though. Nice angry lyrics.

A
full on driving rock song, this is high energy and powerful.
Guitars sound great and some nice little panned fills, a good solid bass too.
Very much enjoyed.
