The Great Panjandrum

Description
A Panjandrum is: a pompous potentate, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing, OR a terrifying weapon of war that was never used, possibly because it didn't work. Either way, the loping beat of this conjures up either interpretation, while onlookers hope he/it leaves them alone.

The Great Panjandrum
Big drums and bass drive things along. Lots of interesting sounds in the arrangement. Soaring guitars. Entertaining, Graham!

Cheers, Philip
My only hope is that the Panjandrum loves us too. Otherwise, could be trouble. Thanks for being first!

It's David on drums
but I am totally into hiring a panda for the job sometime. Glad you enjoyed it, Vic.

Meditation on Panjandrum
I especially like the Prog-like bass... Like George Harrison meets Chris Squire. And that the green guy's head looks a tad like a fist. I'd never heard of that word before, Panjandrum. It has to be my new word of that day!

It's a green sock
in an ermine gown. I like drawing socks because they're easy. I also like my new bass and the fact that you like the word 'panjandrum'. Cheers, Tobin.

The Great Panjandrum
You are on a roll these days Graham ... cool bass ... rockin' guitar work and an inventive tune. Enjoyed the sounds ... nuances that drift in and out.
Clear mix.
Cheers

6 months' work
Or maybe more. We had so many things half - done for one reason or another. Now we have a lot of things fully done, so I'm releasing them a week at a time. I like this one a lot, because it actually sounds like the title, and it's a bit mad. I'm happy you enjoyed it, Stan.

Panjandrum set
Yeah, that bass really comes to life on this track. Crimsony bits are always a nice touch. Lead guitar sounds great out there in the distance. More drummy goodness from your bandmate. Fine work, gents.

David's good
I've certainly learned a lot in the last year, working with Mr McNair. If we were to play live I would have to play bass, as we work so well as a rhythm unit. Then I'd have to find a guitarist. Or grow extra arms. More great stuff to come, you'll be pleased to know. Thanks for listening, Les.

The Great Panjandrum
Needs to be played live with a laser light show and an exploding stage at the end. End of the world rock. The new bass is inspiring you to great heights. Thanks, guys. Regards, Peter.

To be fair
I did this using the Ovation and the SX guitars, but redid the bass with the Yamaha for this version. But yes, the new instruments (Yamaha bass and EG112 with real Fender bits transplanted) are indeed inspirational. Ta for listening, Peter.

An oldie
This dates back to when I did the vocals for Bob's "Mountain" song. I was mucking about with the new mike, doing the droning "Panjandrum" bit, and it led to what you now hear. I only finished a proper version recently. Odd how things hang around for ages then get done in no time. Thanks for listening, Dick.

I sacked the bass player
because of flatulence. But, as the bass player is me, I had to rehire myself. Glad you grooved to it, KC.
