Lyrics
VERSE 1

A midnight dance lit up the sand
While the fire burned I held your hand
Eyes open wide
And so much to see

When the music faded from within
You asked the DJ for one more spin
Eyes open wide
Taking in the dream

CHORUS

Those crazy summer nights
Sweet dreams were born from paradise
We touched the neon lights
And everything would feel all right

VERSE 2

One more time before summer's end
We jumped the lines to dance again
Eyes open wide
We were king and queen

The Doorman said to set you free
Cause loving you was killing me
Eyes open wide
Why should I believe

CHORUS

Those crazy summer nights
Sweet dreams were born from paradise
We touched the neon lights
And everything would feel all right
We played out every scene
Loving high society
We touched the neon lights
And everything would feel all right

BRIDGE

I like to feel the music in my veins
Feel the neon lights take me away
You and I baby we should dance until dawn
So let the record spin, put the needle in and play
Play my song

SOLO

VERSE 3

The limo came to take me home
A ride I had to take alone
Eyes open wide
It was time to leave

CHORUS

Those crazy summer nights
Sweet dreams were born from paradise
We touched the neon lights
And everything would feel all right
We played out every scene
Loving high society
We touched the neon lights
And everything would feel all right

Damn. This is a knockout. The composition, performance, and production are all superb. So well thought out. Everything burning on eight cylinders. Sounds great on my headphones. Huge. Could you provide some information about who and how up above. Is it all you, or do you have a band? I see that you're a drummer. Well, damn, that's some top-notch drumming. And that guitar … yeah. Thoroughly impressed and totally downloaded. Thanks.

really good song. powerful vocal and super catchy chorus. dig the anachronistic vibe, reminiscent of the best of the 70's or early 80's.

Cant think...
...of anything that could make this a better track than it already is. Production is top drawer; vocals are hot, hot, hot; the band is stellar. Why isn't this playing everywhere on the radio? Well, it should be (and, I suspect, so should many other things you've written and recorded). Absolutely professional in every way. WOW.

Just the drums?
The whole thing would fit nicely on Toto XIV, which I've been listening to a lot. Terrific song and production, but lose the fake brass. It's not needed.

Started out playing drums at about 8. Joined the school music programs. After school I played in a bar band for a couple of years. If you know who Bud Marr is he was our bass player...lot's of interesting stories. Then life happened and I got a caree... [see more]
