Lyrics
I feel like a spiny little hedgehog
All alone with the geckos and the sand
You may wanna touch me or hold me
But my spines will go into your hand.
It’s not fair to be a little hedgehog
But I know I’m not ready to quit
I just wish I wasn’t so lonely;
I eat fruit to cope with it
Fruit is tasty; fruit is good.
I eat fruit, and you should too.
I eat it even when I am not hungry.
And I feel like a spiny little hedgehog
All alone with the geckos and the sand
Her love made me so spiny
Can’t tell if I’m rodent or man
It’s not fair to be a little hedgehog
Though the desert sun gives me a tan
Even though I have nothing to live for
Eating “figs” makes me feel like a man
And I sit here watchin’ C-Span
And I’m wondering where she’s been.
I can’t figure out what happened;
It’s easier not to think
But a critter’s simple mind
Is something I can’t find.
I just wanna get some shade
And think, think, think about
Fruit is tasty, fruit is good
I eat fruit and you should too
I eat it but I still am empty
And I feel like a spiny little hedgehog
All alone with the geckos and the sand
Her love made me so spiny
Can’t tell if I’m rodent or man
All alone with the geckos and the sand
You may wanna touch me or hold me
But my spines will go into your hand.

I see you singing this song with flowers in your hair,
dartling on a meadow. Yeah, very seventies, but that's not
a bad comment. Very nice voice harmonics (I especially
like the octave jump in the first two words of the phrase).
Imagine the world could be limited to 12 notes, 4 colours
and 26 letters. Bye bye complexity! How lucky would we
be :-)
