Description
My tip of the hat to a great person that has had quite an impact on my choices in guitar playing. Also a great inspiration to my songwriting.

John Mayer said it well: "BB King's life was in and of itself a time capsule... he was a pioneer in the inception of electric blues music and he was its grand ambassador generations later. "

Lyrics
I wasn’t born at the time you first got famous
You played guitar better than the best.

My heart beats like a hammer,
‘cause every day I have the blues.
The Beale Street Blues Boy.

I couldn’t help my self for being caught up
in your magic mystery tunes.

There’s just nobody playing it - the way you did.
The Beale Street Blues Boy.

The King has left
The King has left
The King has left

The thrill you brought with the magic sound
Nothing could compare.

You’re still here in a way,
with the wealth you left us
The Beale Street Blues Boy.

The King has left
The King has left
The King has left

Excellent post Thor!
Very enjoyable (though a little sad) post. I've always loved your guitar playing, and this is a terrific example of why. Understated accompaniment works just right.
Cheers and best wishes from Oz,
Neil

I'm happy to hear that you liked it Neil and I especially like the comment about understated accompaniment. That's what I strive to achieve, but maybe not always accomplish...

Nicely done, Thor. Some very sweet blues licks in here that I'm sure B.B. would appreciate. ;)

Glad to hear you like the blues licks. I could never do the B.B. signature vibrato tones. He really had a special sound.

The King Has Left
Fine tribute. Love the tone on the guitar and those crying licks are a real treat. Love the sparseness of the playing during the singing. Much enjoyed!

Wonderful, authentic tribute to the King, Thor. Really like this. Lovely, subtle lead work with great tone and a quality backer. The floating, background vocals are inspired. Thanks, Peter.

I couldn't think of too many other people who could do the king justice. Fantastic guitar, really good to hear you here. Vocals have that Bowie vibe. Congrats on the mix, totally enjoyed.
