Lyrics
Hold my hand
I'll take you to the weirdest places
I'll show you all the strangest scenes
In Terra Nova

Terra Nova
Home of all the flightless birds
Home of all the unseen words
Life absurd - Terra Nova

Terra Nova - home of all the fish that fly
Home of all the female guys
Truthful lies - Terra Nova

Terra Nova - incognito wonderland
Terra Nova - incognito, sweet potatoland
Terra Nova - incognito wonderland
Wonder if it's true?

Terra Nova welcomes you with open arms
No false alarms for you
Terra Nova, incognito wonderland
Where every lie is true
Terra Nova, incognito wonderland
Where every lie is true

Wonderful arpeggio magic...
...as this track begins. Certainly an other-worldly sound you have created with your orchestration at the beginning of this track. There are some really nice guitar solos you use so effectively as bridges...And all those little blips and sounds with which you dot your track are really appealing and so subtle. I also like the pace of this number. Don't know if I could understand the lyrics without the words printed. Might be something to consider: vocal vs. the band. What's most important when they intersect?
I so enjoyed the many skills you display in this rather mysterious track.

Cheers, Paul
Yes, much thought went into the arrangement. David is without his drum set right now, so I'm waiting for the full treatment before editing for vocal/music clashes, something I'm keenly aware of. Murder your darlings, I say!

Every lie is true
Lovely opening. Effective mix choice with the guitar over on the next block. Several themes threading this very unusual arrangement. I like the doubled vocals and all the guitars. Clever drum track, but of course, we want REAL drums from you guys. Power and subtlety. Very tasty. Nice artwork, too. The ideas were flowing free, it's clear to see. You could probably spin this off into an entire album side.

That's a good idea
I have enough alienation songs for a whole side, so we could indeed do that. Now, what would the other side be about? I know - macramé! We'll get the real drum thing eventually, then I'll repost. Thanks, Les.

Terra Nova
I like the arpeggiated opening. Guitar entry is good! The vocals work well. Interesting and varied arrangement. It's good, Graham!

Thanks, Philip
Much work went into the arrangement, as you can imagine. I'm taken with Les's suggestion, so I will try to do a couple of variations on this later.

Getting there from here
How far is the flight from New York to Terra Nova? It sounds like it would be a step through the looking glass, because here in the U.S. everything is the opposite of the place you describe: here, every truth is a lie : )

Loving the guitars, the singing, the arrangements, the concept.

I know what you mean
Check out anything with Malala (and in particular anything with she and Jon Stewart) for reassurance that all is not lost. Meanwhile, thank you for listening. This is an important song to me for many reasons.

sweet
break after the intro and when the vocals come in.....Really pro tone and arrangement. Surprisingly playful for such a rich and heavy mix. What do you use to get the wonderful bass tone and sound. Thanks
Tim

Yamaha fretless
which goes through an ART preamp straight into Garageband. I use as little EQ and compression as I can, because the instrument sounds great as it is. Glad you liked it, Tim.
