Live and Die - 2015

Hey everyone, some of you might remember my track "Live and Die" from a while back. Well, it's now re-recorded (with someone who can actually sing!) and so this is my pre-commercial release. Be as positive or negative as you like, MacJams is the last safety barrier before the commercial stores on this one, so be nit-picky!

Good stuff
Not really my bag, [too many years maybe!] but the production is top notch. Very catchy, trance anthem-ish, good drops. I see happy, drunken people dancing in Ibiza. :-) I remember the last incarnation of this. Your own voice was pretty good as I recall, but yes, the new singer does sound more like the real thing. Good luck sir.

The only nit
I can come up with is that it sounds quite ready for the commercial stores :-) While listening I start wondering if the radio is on nearby. So yes, top professional quality as far as my old ears can discern. I guess that is what you and many others here on MJ wants and dream of, so I can only second Dave and say Good luck! And thanks for the listen, which I actually liked :-)

Take care,

Oughta get 'em dancing.
Sounds quite ready for prime time to me. It's loud, it's crisp, it's got a great beat, catchy hook... very polished. I like it.

Live and Die
Okay suggestions: touch additional reverb on the guitar. What you have is nice. I need to hear it bounce off the wall though...
Pitch the background vocals with fourths and fifths.
The choice of dance groove riffs in the synth are cliche, loopy and the voicing is pedestrian. Make it tell a story while it pounds out to the groove?
At the logical ends of the ideas in each verse add a reverb. So the vocal expression fades into the groove.
Do something with the drop. That idea needs to be refreshed with a filter or something like a novel glitch trick. Lots of deft drops going these days. Again you meet the criteria for the EMO bag, but the thing is full. Emulate, then innovate.
Best of luck with the project.
