Description
Overview:
Can't see, what you can't see? Filters may enhance the infrared and ultraviolet, hinting at the hidden reality, but the spectrum outside the functional effectiveness of the instruments provided to you by chance, your birthright vision, would you not like to see the whole of the creation and understand the complete framework? Illuminate the design my friend... Here is the spirit of the observable. Enhance the experience. The default world view crumples. Experience.

Program notes:
Opening material is derived from the super arpeggio. The rhythm section is playing an implied 2-5-1 in the key of C.
Featured next, the whole tone scales (yes C followed by Db) express a off beat rhythmic pattern, and slide into a riff and guitar solo workout.
At the sound of the gong, a program deviation, the Daug Special eight bar piano solo over a vamp in 7/8 was recorded live without tweaks! (So don't expect great shakes.) The rhythm section is banging out a shango (shuffle tango) figure. Too much information?
The super arp appears again as a transition back into the solo guitar thing. Rhythm section pounds out the shango at a 138 bpm tempo.

Additional features: this material is polytonal and polyrhythmic, but one can hear the key of C and count straight four through the majority of the program. Tempo changes enhance the experience at several points. The solos on guitar were done live without redux. The piano solo was created a few bars at a time and pieced together... just like they did it in the analog studio.

more than jangles...
and you're probably right - too much information for this non-initiate. Plethra of beats, sounds, and synths. Kind of a hyper tune-in, tune-out...

Spirits of Observable Light
Being a Jazz and Prog Rock fan since high school let me say...I think I get this. Not an easy listen as in "easy listening" but easy to like and appreciate.I'm going to crank this on the big speakers this weekend and probably get a whole new appreciation. Thanks for sharing man...much enjoyed.

Hello JG
Appreciate your stopping by, playing this tune on big speakers will be interesting. The thing is mastered for a lap top device style player to suit this audience. I listen to things in my car, if they sound alright there I am pretty much finished mixing... best of luck. I still have a band PA in the garage, I could set it up and see how it sounds... that should shake things up.

Deep breath
As usual, the initial sounds emanating from the Daug Haus hint that this isn't E-Z Jazz. Therz gonna be some ear-stretching. Polyrhythmic, check. Polytonal, check. Prolly polly-everything. I'll try to match up the program notes with the audible notes later, so I took a D/L. I am experienced.

E-Z Jazz
Yes, experience Henry, thank you for stopping by. I appreciate the kind comment. I try to provide a unique and interesting experience. Yes, the whole tone scales follow each other in a figure that moves on the off beats, there is a bizarre quality to the resolution of the Db scale against the dominant there after the C whole tone scale that sets the mood perfectly. Creepy? Naw... it's pure dissonant bliss! The defining quality of all modern music.

Hello Don
Thanks for checking out the goings on. Glad to have you on board! Ah, the volume on the guitar. Now there is a very difficult situation. The mix here could be more guitar centric, just not too inclined to go make guitar records. That's just been done to death. Looking for an ensemble sound in my mix.

The Spirit...
Only you could pull this monster out the hat disguised as an escapade around the "observable universe"...knowing full well that elements of the multiverse and the platform at the edge of the frontier are tools and locations only tasted by the unafraid...I luv this Daug...:):):)

Hello Erin
The idea that monstrous things are happening here, naw, no monsters.
I'm just trying to make something to solo over. The solo section are short and all have features to keep the challenge factor high. So the idea is to have complete thoughts under the various conditions. You should try this challenge. Might be fun for ya.

What is going on?
Hello my mysterious friend. I noted some of the elements in the description section. How does one do this?
Is that the question?
First, the inspiration, have to hear how something is suppose to go. Imagine the thing whole. Next, hurry to the DAW and make a sketch, quickly build up the backing, before the inspiration departs. Finally, break out the guitar and spray some notes on there without thinking about the process at all.
I am pleased you enjoyed the experience and took a copy. The idea that what you have received is free music might be an incomplete assumption. Hopefully you experienced far more.

Yes .. original, interesting, different.

Like the visible spectrum, the human ears can only hear so much. Yet, within that framework, there are many different ways to build the habitation .. and your daughouses are unique.

This piece teems with energy. There's a great dialog between the structure and the improvisations .. even when they seem to be yelling at each other. Talk about "twist and shout."

In a reply to a comment you noted how you use the car speaker system as an arbiter. I used to do the same thing .. until moving to New York City and selling the auto and relying on public transportation to get around. So now headphones have pretty much replaced that evaluator. Perhaps that makes the music seem more intimate .. yet I'd probably be taken aback at how some of the pieces would sound if played through a big speaker system.

Hey Warren
Over the years I have collected many pair of speakers. I use Boz bookcase models for reference work. The tiny speakers in the lap top are what I am mixing for these days...
A CD quality mix is just not available... I still have a band PA which will floor 2000. Not doing that to the girl that lives next door...

The title alone
Drew me in... wondering what the heck is he going to do to hang with that title. No pontification here, just the heavy stuff. Damn dude, serious jams and some fun riffing to boot.
Thanks for the download.

Hello Papi
Enjoy your copy, scare some of the squares... ask them if they can see the colors... the new colors. Ask them. "Is that the color of the television? Does the new body commercial from BIG have those hues?" LOL.
Thanks for stopping by my friend.
