Description
A friend that I recently discovered at the last Macjams jam session in Dallas. He floated this tune to me and asked if I could add sax to it. I am not sure about my solo part... might be a bit pitchy so a redo may be in order... your thoughts!

I disabled this for download as it is not my song and James is not a member here. Email for request of d/l

Production function
Ah, musically that loop is working. Lyrics not so much... more dynamic range in the mix, a place for everything and everything in a place... Good to see ya working.

No Darkness
Big sound, which perhaps means the vocal could be a bit further forward? The sax adds character. Interesting arrangement. I enjoyed it!

Hey Mr. Sax
Is James going to be a member? He should! This is really good.

It to me has a clean grunge feel if you know what I mean and I mean that in a good way.

Nicely done guys!

broody
i like the overlay of the sax on top of the broody feel.

drum pattern could use a variation or drop out.

No darkness
this marches along that upbeat with the sax in the back really moves it, I like when the sax gets going in the solo not to pitchy to me I like the way you ease into it then let it go, great song!

No Darkness by James Whatley w/awigze
Sax sounds good not pitcy at all to my ears, although I did hear something around the 2:17 that sounded a little off,not sure what....Solid song for sure,I think the sax makes it better.

Has an expansive, moody, early 80's sound that sax sits so well in. Nice work. As others have said, the vocal could have a bit more presence and, to me, the drums didn't seem to have any stereo width but the vibe is definitely there and worth pursuing. Thanks for sharing it with us, Andy. Regards, Peter.

My 2 cents:
Bring the vocal up front much much more. It's kind of buried in the mix. All instrumental elements strike me as right on the money...but THEY are not the song. The vocal is. I don't know much (anything!) about this style of writing, but it all strikes me as completely solid on every front.

Wall of Sound
This sounds very full. There are places where I can't even tell what instrument is making the sound.

I would have made the tambourine sound a little less relentless though.

Your sax fits the arrangement perfectly.

Thanks for the comment... we value your comment. I thing think when James' acct gets setup the new mix may be his first song submission. At least, that is my suggestion. We thank you and I appreciate your friendship.
