When Something Is Wrong With My Baby (vintage live 1968)

 Genre: Soul

This is another live track from autumn 1968 (yes, I'm an old fuddie-duddie) of our band The Twilights. We performed in the Norristown area of PA. The quality of this recording is pretty good considering it was recorded by us amateurs on an old reel to reel tape recorder. I think we nailed this old Sam and Dave classic pretty good.

Lead Vocal: Herk
Guitar: Vince
Bass and vocal harmony: Carl
Drums: Dave
Tenor Sax: Wes
Tenor Sax: Jack

A little muffled...
But I love this. A good, raw sound with some heart in it. And in my home state. I know where Norristown is. ;)

Very Nice!
Love the song and all very well done! You might be able pull the tracks into software that might enhance the sound clarity some.

Hydrogen lifts me...
with his comment. Thanks, H3. Unfortunately there is only one track. But even if I'm not sure I wouldn't do more harm than good on this. Cheers...

Peering into the past
I have some reel-to-reel recordings from 1968 .. that I'm afraid to listen to : )

Fortunately, the old recorder is long gone .. and if I wait it out those magnetic tapes will probably render themselves unlistenable.

I have no problem listening to this. The muffle simple adds ambiance as we peer into the past .. and perhaps it's a good thing not to have too much clarity.

Looking back by listening to these old recordings (I've got many more) from 45 plus years ago has been quite an experience for me. I only came into possession of these songs about 3 years ago. Glad you like it, Warren.

Brings me back. I still have contact with some of these guys. They're in the Philadelphia area. I'm in Santa Barbara on the west coast. But we've talked about me visiting some day, getting together to perform some of our old songs at a venue that's available to us. Thanks...
